Title: Ruling Please! Private game, not dealer dealt. Hence.... Post by: paulpitchford on October 12, 2011, 08:56:46 PM As per title. As I recall...
A card was exposed during the deal that was set aside as the burn. Two players involved to the flop. The exposed card was missed and the dealer burned as normal before dealing the flop (so effectively the last flop card was what should have been the turn burn). Both players checked the flop. At this time the mistake was noted. What do we do from here please? Title: Re: Ruling Please! Private game, not dealer dealt. Hence.... depends how serious the game is/was? Proper rules...no idea.. hand voided? only other option i can think of is make the end flop card the new turn burn (as it should have been), and re-deal the 3rd card? Title: Re: Ruling Please! We could have done that but we like to play as it should be, if you like. Does anyone else know what the ruling may have been? Title: Re: Ruling Please! Private game, not dealer dealt. Hence.... Post by: gatso on October 13, 2011, 05:18:32 PM some places are gonna treat this as a 4 card flop, shuffle flop plus burn face down, pick 3 to be new flop and use the 4th face up as burn for the turn
I'm sure other places will deal with it differently though Title: Re: Ruling Please! Private game, not dealer dealt. Hence.... Post by: doubleup on October 13, 2011, 05:27:31 PM think it is substantial action as both players checked, so carry on as normal (and tell the dealer it is so fing simple to place the misdealt card in the middle of the table and then put it on top of the pack when preflop is all dealt). Title: Re: Ruling Please! Private game, not dealer dealt. Hence.... Post by: JK on October 14, 2011, 12:47:41 AM The way Id rule this is pretty simple and has been said.
2 actions so action stands, dealer error. Simples. Title: Re: Ruling Please! Private game, not dealer dealt. Hence.... Post by: Leedszilla on October 24, 2011, 06:01:30 PM Yeah by the time you've both checked the flop the mistake is ancient history and stands. The extra card on the flop is just as exposed turn burn card.
Title: Re: Ruling Please! Private game, not dealer dealt. Hence.... Post by: DMorgan on October 29, 2011, 09:05:30 PM Pretty simple one since everyone can see what happened and the incorrect cards were burned not mucked, so you just replace the cards as they should have been but you have an exposed flop burn card and an exposed turn burn card. Then you have the river as normal, trying not to burn 2 cards this time ;)
Title: Re: Ruling Please! Private game, not dealer dealt. Hence.... Post by: SuuPRlim on October 29, 2011, 09:13:31 PM yh a "proper" ruling would NEVER allow the card which should have been the burn card for the turn be used as a card in the flop.
as DM states. home game might just be easier to say whoops and carry on tho |
