Title: Stag do To vegas Post by: action man on October 19, 2011, 02:04:58 PM hi guys im best man for a stag do that will be happening in vegas for 5 nights in mid july.
Need help on flights/package deals, we dont want top end hotel but we dont want luxor/imperial palace either. Wanna be central. 10 people going, would people advise getting hotels while we are there or in advance. Really struggling guys, the group is seven 26/27 yr olds and 3 50+ year olds. Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: millidonk on October 19, 2011, 02:12:59 PM Had my stag do in Vegas. Oh boy is all i will say on that.
Stayed at PH, which was ideal for party vibe and location. Can get flights a lot cheaper if you go via Houston or something but it is a massive ball ache, just go direct for the extra couple hundred imo. ARIA has some sick deals and i think they are suites only which is decent esp for the older peeps. All depends on the budget per person. Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: edgascoigne on October 19, 2011, 02:17:07 PM Myself and a few mates stayed at Treasure Island which was reasonably priced/located and the rooms were decent.
Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: TheChipPrince on October 19, 2011, 02:28:24 PM Got back from a near identical jobbie 2 weeks ago, 11 of us, all 27/28/29 ish.
Paid £740 for 5 nights in MGM, rooms were fine, average but fine for needs. In-direct flights via Philly, from Manchester. Did Casino golf out there which was a shambles as 2 lads went home ill after 4 casino's. Paid for pool party cabana @ wet republic which was awesome but to be fair the elders in your group probably wouldn't fancy that. Xs @ Encore & Tryst @ Wynn were the best two nigthclubs we went. Drove out to Hoover Dam & Canyon Skywalk which was only like $60 each if helicopter is too expensive. Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: tonytats on October 19, 2011, 02:29:46 PM Look at last minute.com or expedia nearer the time you get a lot of choice
I'm currently lookin at a long weekend 9th November till 14th November it varies from 753 at treasure island to 1150 at bellagio flying indirect Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: StuartHopkin on October 19, 2011, 02:37:39 PM I would look at flights ASAP as they only seem to get more expensive the longer you wait these days, unless your lucky and catch one of the sales.
Then look at sorting your hotel. There are some good deals to be had on Hotwire I believe if your not bothered about knowing which 4 star your going to be in. Stopped in Planet Hollywood last time which I thought was really good value, atmosphere etc Guy managed to sort it out at about £50 per room per night by spinning the hotel host a yarn about us reviewing stuff... Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: Dubai on October 19, 2011, 02:51:21 PM book flights early, hotels late and make everyone xfer 100-200 a month into a kitty for their spending money

Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: action man on October 19, 2011, 02:59:03 PM yeh im planning to be, still, best man duties to sort the trip for tha lads
Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: Marky147 on October 19, 2011, 03:05:00 PM book flights early, hotels late and make everyone xfer 100-200 a month into a kitty for their spending money This basically but it's ok to book hotels early as deals come up and you might be able to lock something in at a sick rate. I had about 5 booked for last year and then just cancelled the ones I didn't want the week before I went. You only pay the first night as a deposit on a room and can cancel it up until a couple days before at no cost to yourself. Harrahs just book direct and checkout the deals on www.smartervegas.com (http://www.smartervegas.com) Planet Hollywood would be ideal for a stag as mentioned. I stayed there for a couple nights this year and thought that it was good on the whole apart from Alex Martin breaking my scooter trying to climb on the back of it pissed up :D If you're going in July then you may be able to book it through Dave1961 who posts here on their WSOP rate at Palazzo of $180 a night all in. Carve that down the middle and it's for nothing really to stay in a great hotel. Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: KarmaDope on October 19, 2011, 03:14:28 PM Last year BA had a sale at the end of October/beginning of November and had one the same time the year before. Might be worth waiting until then for flights.
Echo book hotels now and keep checking for decent deals closer to the time though. Just make sure you can cancel and get deposit back - Vegas hotels are slowly starting to have offers where hotel is paid for there and then, non-refundable. Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: outragous76 on October 19, 2011, 03:18:52 PM If you decide on ph then send me a pm! That said I need certainty on numbers etc! I fucked myman around last time (mostly because of me) but would want it far smoother this time.

It's next door to Imperial Palace, so you can still look down your nose at the neighbours too! Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: Marky147 on October 19, 2011, 07:23:32 PM I've stayed at almost all the resorts on the strip and for the sake of the ton a man per roomor whatever it's likely to cost I would stay at PH.
IP is good fun to drink in and for some low level gambling but not really somewhere I would stay again unless the only alternative was the tunnels under the strip. Harrahs is just above IP for me and I'd only stay there if I was on a tight budget. Ballys is decent again and the location is good but as a resort it's pretty dead Flamingo is great location, pretty much on a par with Harrahs for rooms although the GO rooms are a cut above that for a little extra. PHo is a great resort for a stag do and will cost you a little more money but it's worth it for the outfits and better rooms imo The days you are going will influence the price of rooms too, if you're there Mon-Fri it will be cheaper than Thurs-Tues etc. Not much but probably a couple hundred or so per room. For Thurs 13th July checking out on Tue 17th Flamingo for a GO room is $675 + tax so prob $750, you can split that between 2 soo it works out about £50 a night per man Ballys is $625 so again probably a touch over $700 PHo is $765 so looking about $850 so £60 per night per man Harrahs is $410 for the classic to $560 deluxe and I think the only difference is the counters and mattresses that's gonna work out between $480 and $630 for the 5 nights. For the sake of a few quid I'd be staying at PHo and it's not even much of a decision for me. With it being a stag do, having so long before you're going and plenty of scope to save up before booking you should be looking nowhere else imo. Would you rather bowl back into Harrahs after a night out thinking yeah I saved a bullseye staying here as you get your 5am drink from your nan... Or have some dolly in hotpants float on over with your daquiri as you stumble on down to Earl of Sandwich for a 5am munch Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: millidonk on October 19, 2011, 07:25:51 PM said it before and i'll say it again, EoS is the abso nuts!

Cheap, Horrible, At the wrong end of the strip (by quite a long way) and you will spend more in taxis than you save in hotel costs! Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: Woodsey on October 19, 2011, 09:13:35 PM Circus Circus = No No No! Cheap, Horrible, At the wrong end of the strip (by quite a long way) and you will spend more in taxis than you save in hotel costs! That and the stratosphere are always the first two that pop up in noobs itineraries cus they are cheap. I think I've lost count of the number of people I talked out of staying in them ;D Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: Woodsey on October 19, 2011, 09:17:34 PM This place never gets a mention on these threads, its an ok place for a group of lads to stay and has a great location bang in centre strip. I've stayed there a couple of times myself. At least look at the prices, they fluctuate a lot, but there are sometimes good deals to be had. You can also get from your room to the strip in 2 mins max, I get sick of walking through endless casino to get to the front door.

Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: Marky147 on November 04, 2011, 04:43:06 AM So ive we've managed to book it, im not on the package, ill be in vegas for wsop the dates are 16th july 7 nights wynn think its like 1100 quid each flying direct from manc now meal time, 10 of us best italian Lavo in the Palazzo is decent and you could stand to act up a bit too as it's part of the nightclub. best steakhouse SW in the Wynn or Cut in the Palazzo are the best for me with Craftsteak a close 3rd (of the ones I've eaten at) best european cuisine Mix at Mandalay Bay is the only place I think would fall into this category and I think the ambience >>> the food here and things to do plz guys Standard stag do type stuff would be go karting, shooting shit, clubs and strip clubs which I'm sure you need no help sourcing. I've only seen a couple shows Le Reve and Terry Fator both excellent. I'm sure the boys who are out there atm can load you up with plenty more stuff as will some others too. Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: action man on November 04, 2011, 04:51:46 AM "best" as in nicest with no $$ considerations? or "best" as in not too pricey and 10 guys can get a bit rowdy without getting asked to leave? yeh kinda best 10 people not too pricey stag do material, dont think the lads gonna be too keen on doing $400 a piece in cut Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: SuuPRlim on November 04, 2011, 05:07:11 AM Sirio @ the Aria is a sick sick Italian, me and Morgan went there HU a bit ago, had several cocktails and the seasonal taster menu and the bill came to something like $300 so I think 100-150$ a head is pretty decent.
http://www.arialasvegas.com/dining/sirio-ristorante.aspx I also thought Bartolotta @ wynn was amazing - tasting menu's from 120-175p/p was really good value http://www.visitwynn.com/documents/Bartolotta.pdf I also LOVE La Cave at the wynn, one of my favourite places for like "earlyish" dining, sitting out on the terrace and its all incred little tapas style sharing bits is really really sick http://wynnlasvegas.com/dining/la-cave Steakhouses there are SO SO many, Craftsteak just edges it for me but its SO SO expensive, Cut I like - Botero at wynn I went the other day and was great - 9 @ the palms is really really good, and prolly better value than cut/prime etc. My fave is actually Jean George at Aria - it's a bit different in menu and style to typical vegas steakhouses and I think its the best value one by a fair bit. http://www.arialasvegas.com/dining/jean-georges.aspx European food, Julian Serrano at Aria http://www.arialasvegas.com/dining/julian-serrano.aspx Jaleo at Cosmo, (we went for my birthday if you remember trigg) http://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/taste/restaurant-collection/jaleo.aspx Alize at the top of the palms I think is a pretty much MUST even though it's very pricey, one of the best restaurants I been too ever actually, the service/location/food is basically flawless. http://www.palms.com/dining/las-vegas-alize-gourmet-restaurant/ My other picks for sick restaurants that don't fall into your 3 catorgorys are Seafood - Aquaknox @ Venetian http://www.venetian.com/Las-Vegas-Restaurants/Fine-Dining/Aquaknox/ Lakeside @ wynn http://www.visitwynn.com/documents/lakeside.pdf Sushi - Tao @ Venetian http://www.venetian.com/Las-Vegas-Restaurants/Fine-Dining/Tao/ Little Buddha @ The palms http://www.palms.com/dining/las-vegas-little-buddha-sushi/ Basically if you're in Vegas 7 days and have 2 bad meals then you've done something pretty pretty wrong! Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: Marky147 on November 04, 2011, 05:16:35 AM Top man Lil' Dave given me a few spots to tack on to my to do list for the summer now cheers!!
Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: Marky147 on November 04, 2011, 05:18:04 AM Grand Lux looks like a winner for any stag do then Trigg just take them to the Venetian one and then alternate it with the Palazzo. You'll probably all be so out of your boxes that even you'll forget that you've been :D
You also cover all those bases and more in there... Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: brockbhoy on November 04, 2011, 11:52:00 AM maggianos for italian on the strip,
craftsteak as stated is good, key lime martinis go down well Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: SuuPRlim on November 04, 2011, 12:34:31 PM Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: Simon Galloway on November 04, 2011, 01:14:38 PM Some good recommendations from L'il Dave, BUT: I really don't think (with the exception of le cave which is great but more a "first bar of the evening" place, 10 guys are getting out of many of those for <$200. If that's ok, then they are definitely good picks.
For steak, I think Craftsteak is waaaaay overrated. It's also a bit sedate for stag parties. N9ne is a little overrated too, but as a stag group, you could definitely get rowdy and no-one will notice. You can also lean on your waiter to get you line passes into Ghost bar for afterwards. (I wouldn't stay there all night, but an hour or so while dinner goes down is very bearable.) One other option is to ask about a private room. Not sure if 10 is enough or not, but many steak houses have a separate room for large tables where you could definitely have fun without annoying other diners. Throwing in Strip House (PH) as an example of somewhere that has a private room and serves steaks on par with the normal steakhouses that get suggested for more $. You could also look at Botero/Switch in Encore, both more upbeat than your typical Vegas steakhouse and a short stroll if you are going on to Surrender etc. Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: SuuPRlim on November 04, 2011, 05:48:55 PM yh a lot those will be around the $200p/head mark i reckon, Aquaknox and lakeside defo a bit cheaper, and Jaleo at cosmo would be less, we went 5handed the other day and had loads of stuff and cocktails and the bill was like $500 aafter tip, it's great for group morale as well Tapas.
Its the steakhouses that tend to be over-priced/rated a touch imo, i liked craftsteak/cut/nine a lot but i can name at leats 5 restaurants I like better If you're not knocking monkey bottles of wine in I reckon you'll be ok, good thing about vegas is the food is expensive but generally speaking it's very good value Title: Re: Stag do To vegas Post by: pokerfan on November 04, 2011, 08:10:04 PM Loads of stuff here trigg, http://www.vipnvegas.com/index.html inc hire a porn star for $2k :D
