Title: Preflop situation Post by: SuuPRlim on October 23, 2011, 11:44:58 AM Decided to exclude from the other thread cos I genuinely want advice on this hand - preflop dynamics in nl holdem are definatley my weakest area.
$25/$50 ($100 BB ante) 4 Handed. I open Aspades 9c UTG to $175 playing $6,600. Folds to Eric Lieu in the BB who makes it $600 (covering me) Wanted to discuss the merits of i) Folding, ii) Calling, iii) 4Bet Folding, iv) 4Bet Calling. We've played quite a bit together and my image is always quite tight preflop in NLHE - as in I dont really open not good hands, he 100% thinks I'm capable of 4betting "light" but is defo knows that I have tighter opening ranges than most people, even 4 handed. We have had a few 4bets between us this is only the second time i 4bet him and he folded the first time (that was a cold 4bet tho), and I 5bet jammed once Btn vs CO and he folded. I just lost a brutal $30k pot an orbit ago so he might think i'm slightly tilted, but doubt that will play too much on his decision. The way he's played this session would indicate he is pretty respectful of my game. Title: Re: Preflop situation Post by: GreekStein on October 23, 2011, 11:58:22 AM I'd fold.
Title: Re: Preflop situation Post by: Dubai on October 23, 2011, 04:50:21 PM Probably just fold and not tell anyone.

I'm really interested in the diff between 4bet folding and 4bet calling here? Title: Re: Preflop situation Post by: pleno1 on October 23, 2011, 06:18:17 PM $1125

as people who play wioth me know i dont really get into this 3/4/5betitng too much, usually because its 9handed and i dont see too much need, but here in a 4handed game with a couple of good aggressive players I felt it time to get involved. I made $1450 which after discussion with some people it seems was a hundred or two too much, he tanked for quite a while before jamming and i folded v quickly, it wasnt until after the hand I wondered if not considering a 4b/call was burning equity but it didnt cross my mind at the time and I still feel its a huge spew. folding still remains a happy standard, but I felt it a decent spot for a "light" 4bet and it will have prolly helped my image a little bit as well, remember there is an ante in there. TY again for all the feedback x Title: Re: Preflop situation Post by: smashedagain on October 24, 2011, 11:14:43 AM can we have some Sam Grizzle type stories please. he once pasted hellmuth in a fight you know. :)
