Practicing 4 tabling vs bad regs.

Nasty board run out, what run outs are we happy calling with? (if not this one) if we choose to 3bet a mid ace pre.

What's nasty about it against your hand?

Other than Q10, JK and the highly unlikely A7 you look as strong as you did pre to me.

Maybe it's a nasty run out against a pair of sixes but against what you've got it looks pretty incred for 100bbs.

If you've got AK and it runs out A Q J 9 8 it'd be pretty horrific but this looks nice.

looks like a please slide the money over the line and get called by  Kc X imo. If the X is a J, then congratz

Don't think it's a nasty run out TBH..but why not lead the flop?

I think its a pretty bad run out containing straights/two purssss.

Reasoning for 3betitng and check is its my st 3bet in the match and becuase I havn't 3bet yet over a decentishly large sample he will think im an uber nit. So when I check it lets him turn all suited connectors that he thought he had good implieds into 3 barrel bluffs and put pressure on my weak range.

This was my thought process and what I was trying to question.

Wouldn't be too worried about the straights TBH..the 2 pairs is obv always an option when you check call your way through a board with top pair.

IMO, The most likely 2 pair would be KJ or something..so when you call the turn I reckon you have to call the river.

I prefer to do something on the flop..either lead out or check raise but check calling has merit against some oppos. Like if you reckon they'll bet into you again on the turn with less than an Ace, but then I think you have to shut the door on most turns.
The K if not the nicest turn for that but it's not the worst either given the preflop 3 bet.

Very little that we beat IMO. (I can't think of anything really as it would be pretty bad to value bet KQ here..he could have A10 or something, I guess)

Just to clarify, when you're check calling all the way through I think you're more bluff catching here..he might think you're at it and can get you to fold a better hand.

ldo, thats why I took the line to try and get him to make me fold what appears to be a capped weak showdown range.

I like your line. the run out is not cool, the KING on the turn is the worst bit, as you're percived range does get a little stronger and the 9 on the river hits his range much harder than your, but prolly wont stop him bluffing as most of lower section of his range with "showdown value" will still be obvious he needs to bluff with, but with zero info aside him being a slightly budget reg seems like a good hand to me.

:)up
