Title: IPF Zynga and Mind sports Post by: Dave 1961 on November 18, 2011, 04:17:26 PM Hi
I was at the launch of the IPF event yesterday, players from around the world. A $500k freeroll and all expenses paid for the players. I really struggled to believe that this would happen though it appears that they are very serious about building the "Mind sport" approach and if Zynga continue to invest then who knows. It is easy to be cynical at the moment but for once I am going to be optimistic about this group. I am dubious about some of the participants but several international representatives are very professional in their approach and are looking at making this into a serious business. http://int.pokerfed.org/ Anyone else think that this will work? Not at all, I am suprised that someone is spending $10 million on this venture and nobody in poker is talking about it in any real detail. It just does not add up to me. It has been reported in the US on Forbes and is backed by Dentsu the large Japanese agency so I was expecting more of a PR splash |
