Title: Question about Updaters/Live Reporters Post by: GreekStein on December 04, 2011, 06:19:17 PM I'm watching the feed of the GUKPT event.
It's currently 3 handed but the table has just broken and all players are away from it. As the Tower stepped away and the camera still ran I noticed that the GUKPT updater (Peter Leeper is it?) was counting Jakes chips. He removed a small stack from the front to give him better visibilty of the stacks behind it and then put it back. Should he or any other updater ever be touching a player's chips? Title: Re: Question about Updaters/Live Reporters Post by: kinboshi on December 04, 2011, 06:23:19 PM Obviously not, he should ask the TD or someone if he needs details. To protect himself from any accusations of impropriety if nothing else.

I would ask the dealer to do a count for me, which I believe would be the right thing to do, unless I was doing a "guesstimate" by sight only Title: Re: Question about Updaters/Live Reporters Post by: tikay on December 04, 2011, 06:27:32 PM I'm watching the feed of the GUKPT event. Not in a month of Sundays should he, or anyone ele in his capacity, touch those chips. And Peter, who has been around the scene for half a lifetime, knows better. I'd have him shot. He gets the push after today according to tower earlier in the week

I only saw him in the frame. A short while after (short while being somewhere between 30 secs and 5 mins) I did see a supervisor/TD looking over him/helping. Title: Re: Question about Updaters/Live Reporters Post by: KarmaDope on December 05, 2011, 05:14:10 AM Never touch chips unless TD is there and has given me supervised permission. (happens occasionally with TDs who can't be arsed/trying to get count through quickly)

Very very rare for me to do this though, can probably count the number of times I've done it on one hand with fingers to spare.
