Title: 1/2 cash hand 1
Post by: david3103 on December 05, 2011, 03:45:46 PM
I decided a while ago that I wouldn't play 1/2 games any more. I'm not comfortable in them.

But....

at G on Bury New Road Manchester for the APAT, it's day 2 and I'm no longer involved in the tournament (if that makes it sound like I only just busted out then I apologise - I went out very early after a flopped flush with  9d 6d ran into a flopped flush with  Kd Td reduced me to dust, I recovered from 850 to c7000 but that was as good as it got)

Anyway, I digress, back to the hands in question - I'm playing 1/2 because that's all there is and because the blackjack and last night's 1/1 game have been good to me so ...

I sit with £200 as the game starts - this isn't the shortest stack and only a couple of players cover me. I've won a few small pots and folded a lot, check called wth a worse two pair for a small chunk when this hand occurs

I'm BB playing c£230

It's folded to MP who makes it £9 with one caller and round to me holding  7c 7d

Villain has been active and my image, if he's noticed, is tight.

I make it £32
Villain calls, other player folds - when he flat calls here is it reasonable to think he has few hands that crush me? The big pairs 4bet yes?

Flop is  6h 4h 3s

Villain checks.........

Call pre ainec, 3b is really bad. Confused about the action post as written

I prefer to 3b weaker hands here, you can profitably call with 77 here, much better to 3b  Kh 9h or  Jc 2c here.

Probably bet like £40 here, maybe check behind. There aren't many good cards for you but this board will miss your perceived range. Probably bet like £41 here

yeah i'm not a bog fan of the 3bet. Just set mine and try win 200-400 or lose £7

the one PLUS to the 3b is you'll potentially manipulate calling ranges favorably, 88-99 might fold whilst AK/AQ stay in, but this only works reallly with enough of a dynamic to 3b/5b jam (or call) but i VERY much doubt thats the case in a live 1/2 game

as played bet fold the flop imo, £45-£50, if he just calls then do as much chking as you can and fold when the oppurtuity presents itself, this is a bad spot cos you're over-repping your hand in a spot where you are likely to have the best hand anyway but its impossible to continue profitabley to any action past the flop (hence, dont 3bet)
