Title: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: mulhuzz on December 08, 2011, 07:38:51 PM First hand of Vegas tournament: Not really sure about preflop and river play. Flop and turn seem standard.

Two questions: 1. Call preflop? Raising seems bad, folding too. 2. Check back or go for thin value vs KK/QQ on the river? Would he ever check-induce with AK or 77? Does he ever bet turn with KK/QQ? Title: Re: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: mulhuzz on December 08, 2011, 08:03:41 PM at the time we didn't know it, but we do now. This is a rebuy. How does this change your answer?
Title: Re: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: pleno1 on December 08, 2011, 08:36:20 PM river is in no way shape or form "thin" checking would be an enormous error. Bet and expect to win the pot without a showdown 90% of time
pre is ok/good, if its a freeroll I don't mind gambling unless its a 1r1a. dont thnk he'd check too much to induce with better on the river because no missed draws and it looks like you have a pocket pair/ace and its a rebuy and wont expect you to fold. Title: Re: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: pleno1 on December 08, 2011, 08:48:51 PM lol obv he never folds better but ofc can turn up with worse and call. Had to check hh again, you have AQ on A7Axx
-he bets twice setting up a river jam but doesnt go through with it -your range looks like Ax or pocket pairs so he should never check big hands, 7x/pocket pairs willsnap check back whilst Ax will always call a shove therefore with value hands his check on river is really bad thereforeeee he should never have Ax otr but more likely to have big pocket pairs that will probably hero fold but call a small % of time - because no missed draws he's less likely to put you on a bluff as he wont expect you to jam 9's here as a bluff Title: Re: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: outragous76 on December 09, 2011, 02:31:19 AM pre good
flop fine turn fine river - id set them in in this particular tourney Title: Re: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: mulhuzz on December 09, 2011, 03:07:19 AM was obv second guessing myself.
did bet the river, he called with AQ as well. should have just shoved, might have levelled himself into a fold. Title: Re: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: action man on December 09, 2011, 11:18:10 AM you got like pot size jam back on riv? shove is fine
Title: Re: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: pleno1 on December 09, 2011, 01:05:32 PM how much did u bet? how could u fold riv if he jams??

There's no way he's folding. In fact he's not folding any A which is exactly why you should shove for value. Title: Re: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: youthnkzR on December 09, 2011, 02:18:43 PM always flattin p/f in the 1st few levels, played fine throughout... ALWAYS betting river when checked to (this isnt thin value)
Title: Re: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: muckthenuts on December 09, 2011, 04:31:45 PM This is a slam dunk bet on the river. Value bets shouldn't work 100% of the time, and if someone does have this success rate they simply aren't betting enough. It's perfectly fine for them to go awry at times to ensure you're getting the most value in the long run.

Title: Re: $11 MTT - Line Check Post by: action man on December 10, 2011, 03:32:38 PM sick thing is, when u bet 500 you prob should fold to the shove
