Title: How poor are these folds? Pokerstar's Cash Games $25nl
Post by: Rod on December 12, 2011, 09:00:59 PM
EDIT: Corrected Original Post

Hi

Me Again :-)

Been looking through some of the hands I played recently and am think I may be making a weak folds (well I know I am it just trying to understand when I should be calling). These are two of the hands I am unsure about. Are these hands where I folded actually calls? In both cases my image at the table would be very tight (I was playing something like 11/9 or something nitty on this table).

Hand 1

Actually this one might be OK, but feedback would be nice please :-) My opponent is a standard 25nl player and is playing 25/13 and folding to 70% of 3-bets.

Hand Two

I don't usually like calling with AJ OOP but it was suited so I did *lol*. That part is probably fine. The flop is pretty much perfect for me and as I have two people in the pot and have position I raise the c-bet. I then get confused about why somebody would call the c-bet then just call my raise with a very strong hand, I have shown strength so a monster hand would look to get it in? The turn looks safe (and give me a draw to the nuts) so I bet again. I then get raised and call (bad? I thought it was OK but could be wrong). The river is a good bluffing card but I am not sure that makes too much difference at this level. He shoves and I have good odds to call but feel like I am beaten, should I have got it in on the turn and should I call the river.

That is far from standard in full ring - its quite loose - I generally get it in vs this kind of player on that kind of flop.

Hand 2 fold turn to raise.  I would be hugely surprised if the btn doesn't have you crushed.

The more I look at hand one I am convinced I should have got it on on the flop, have no idea why I don't.

And yes I should fold to the raise on the turn, his line shows huge strength and I don't have odds to draw to the flush.

First hand I'm jamming flop and saying wp if he has a set and second I'm jamming turn, TPTK w FD.
Like raise pre first hand, shove or fold to the raise, dont like finding an excuse to fold on the next street.
2nd hand, raise bigger on flop, we want to be getting stacks in as soon as possible, and defo once we have the FD.

1st hand I would re-raise on the flop. On the 2nd you should either push or fold on the turn based on your read of the opponent.
