Title: Computer Processor advice Post by: nosey-p on December 14, 2011, 10:27:37 AM Yes i know, yet another thread on laptops
What is the best Processor? i3 or i5 for £50 extra or Pentium P6200 Is the Pentium P6200 the equivalent of Intel Core i5? Which is best? Looking at Laptops at around the £400 mark The i3 ones i have been looking at are around the £360/£380 The i5 ones are about the £430 mark with the P6200 somewhere in the middle Any advice would be appreciated Thanks Title: Re: Computer Processor advice Post by: rex008 on December 14, 2011, 12:19:49 PM http://paulisageek.com/compare/cpu/
as a start for a good up to date price/performance chart for CPUs. Generally, in the middle ground, you get what you pay for. If you can afford the extra for the i5, I would definitely go for it. You're getting around 40% better performance for that money. I think the P6200 has been pretty much superseded by the Core CPUs now.
