Title: Standard shove? Post by: Bully87 on December 14, 2011, 06:47:03 PM 30 quid FO at Genting Derby
Top 6 paid, 11 left, 2 tables of 6 and 5 Blinds are 1500/3000 300ante Not played many hands, shoving or folding pretty much with 8/10/12 bigs I'm UTG +1 in a 6 handed table Villain just joined table, middle aged S.African, just folded to me in a limped pot BvB where I just bet river with Q hi and he folded He opens to 12k from 28k UTG I'm sat with 33k and find Ad Td You? Get it in? Fold? Title: Re: Standard shove? Post by: paulhouk03 on December 14, 2011, 07:05:18 PM i fold prefer to shove 11 bb when no ones opened then shove with little FE
he seems pretty nitty Title: Re: Standard shove? Post by: mulhuzz on December 14, 2011, 11:16:10 PM seems a trivial fold.
most of the time when people put 3 of 7 BB in the pot, their range is tilted towards to very strong hands. unless you think he's capable of making a -EV raise hoping to get a cheap bluff through before the blinds hit him *and* you have a read that nobody else will call without KK+ pre, then this is quite a simple pass imo. ATs just not strong enough. His (generously wide!) range imo: JJ+, AK, AQs+ but usually it's just QQ+ Title: Re: Standard shove? Post by: Longy on December 15, 2011, 03:12:11 AM I am folding, a 4x open utg with our only read is that he is passive, is enough for me to put them in the muck without too much thought.
Our range should be something like aqs+,1010+ for shoving, even the bottom of that range is a pretty sigh worthy spot. Title: Re: Standard shove? Agree with this, I'd probably cut AQs out of the range to shove with quite happily though. This kind of open from a passive player is normally 'I've got something good, but not really good (KK+) and I don't know what to do with it.' ATs is just not strong enough. Title: Re: Standard shove? Title: Re: Standard shove? Post by: pleno1 on December 15, 2011, 09:55:49 AM i always make these bets when im weak and short.
fold Title: Re: Standard shove? Post by: Bully87 on December 15, 2011, 06:31:59 PM Never said he was passive but it just wreaked of a "shit blinds coming, best steal" and the table was nitty too.
I obvs shoved OTT (hence result orientated moan PHA) and get shown the whopper that is 8s 9h. I just felt especially 6 handed and the blinds coming that if I passed I wouldnt see another decent hand for a while and blind out. Suppose it was a moment where I thought this will either make or break for taking down a decent result. Anyways flop... 6s 7c...x...x... Th Meh, thanks for input anyway guys. |
