Title: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: rfgqqabc on December 14, 2011, 07:59:21 PM Blinds 75/150 £90 sat to MC
I'm in SB with Ks Ac. 3 limpers, Lawrence Gosling makes it 300, dealer flats 300 Lawrence has been pretty splashy so far, and probably sees me as active, spewy and bluffy. I've been playing like a nit but I'm young looking and he went to c/r me when i was pfr on a KJ4r board and claimed KT after the hand. I had AQ and went to showdown with backdoor QQ and won the pot. We're both 20kish deep and everyone else has about 10k or less Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: outragous76 on December 14, 2011, 08:06:52 PM any option is fine this deep (even fold with Lawrence in the hand) ;)
Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: muckthenuts on December 14, 2011, 09:20:45 PM Make it 1500-2000
Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: rfgqqabc on December 14, 2011, 09:30:50 PM Make it 1500-2000 if he 4bets? Problem was at least one of the limpers could easily call a 1.5k 3bet and then i'm in a shitty spot on most flopsTitle: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: mulhuzz on December 14, 2011, 11:10:47 PM this deep, i think AK is roughly the same hand as 55 oop, so I just peel.
Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: outragous76 on December 15, 2011, 03:15:13 AM this deep, i think AK is roughly the same hand as 55 oop, so I just peel. like its def a peel this early and oop Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: rfgqqabc on December 15, 2011, 03:40:17 AM Feeling happier about my decision to peel and not 3bet now. Thanks guys.
Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: GreekStein on December 15, 2011, 06:16:10 AM I 3-bet here against lawrence.
Hiiiighly unlikely anyone is flatting the 300 and fairly likely lawrence will spazz off pre or post. Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: TommyD on December 15, 2011, 07:45:15 AM I 3-bet here against lawrence. Hiiiighly unlikely anyone is flatting the 300 and fairly likely lawrence will spazz off pre or post. I don't know this player, is he likely to go crazy with weaker aces and less this early? Personally I like a peel, but 3bet is fine also. Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: GreekStein on December 15, 2011, 07:57:57 AM Just re-read op.
Is lawrence gosling a different person to lawrence gosney or was it a typo? My post refers to the latter Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: stato_1 on December 15, 2011, 08:12:54 AM Just re-read op. Is lawrence gosling a different person to lawrence gosney or was it a typo? My post refers to the latter Nah this is lawrence gosney hes on abt. Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: GreekStein on December 15, 2011, 08:14:01 AM Then yeh I like a 3bet.
Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: mulhuzz on December 15, 2011, 08:20:35 AM Then yeh I like a 3bet. what do you expect him to continue with given he's ip? I imagine this deep he has basically 0 4bet range? If I'm wrong, what's his 4bet-range and if he 4bets, what's our plan? Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: BulldozerD on December 15, 2011, 08:24:21 AM I'd actually consider 3bet/folding here vs Lawrence, he'll peel just about everything though I reckon, which will include alot of dominated hands.
Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: GreekStein on December 15, 2011, 08:27:17 AM I would never 3-bet fold vs him with ak, in a satellite or not.
He will peel a bunch and jam worse too just cos he thinks you're an over aggro young gun. Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: mulhuzz on December 15, 2011, 08:34:37 AM I would never 3-bet fold vs him with ak, in a satellite or not. He will peel a bunch and jam worse too just cos he thinks you're an over aggro young gun. jamming? with 4bets 20k deep at 75/150? let's say we make it 1100, you expect him to just put 20k in with worse? i don't know the guy from adam, maybe he would, but seems like he'd just peel everything he's raised with. if we think he can defo jam worse, I prefer tossing 6k out there and making it look like a mistake. 'shit i thought that 5k chip was a 500', or something ;) Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: mulhuzz on December 15, 2011, 08:42:04 AM side question: is doing something like that (the toss out the 'wrong' chip) bad etiquette/against the rules/morally bad?
Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: GreekStein on December 15, 2011, 08:51:12 AM Argh I didn't see we were both 20k deep! I thought lawrence was 10k deep.
Yeh I prob peel for deception and being oop etc but if I could cherry pick some guys I think I could induce to get that many bigs in vs my ak and still be in great shape, mr gosney would be in my top 2. Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: pleno1 on December 15, 2011, 09:55:11 AM i 3b fold.
Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: muckthenuts on December 15, 2011, 03:19:52 PM Slam dunk 3b pre. Nobodys hand looks all that strong and you'll often still get one or two people putting additional chips in with a range way behind our hand with plenty left in stacks to manoevure post. Saying that AK = 55 is ridiculous btw
If Lawrence does 4bet evaluate but doubt i'd fold. Blockers and he plays weird. Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: rfgqqabc on December 15, 2011, 03:33:59 PM He does play weird, and def wouldn't give me any respect. At this point i had a lot more information about him then he had about me, because my dads played with him. I guess he saw me as competent and aggro and i just didn't want to 3b and fold, or 3b/call and him be laughing in my face, because he has minned a premium. Esp because he had the only two people on his left that might 3b, Skippy on this forum. Also, the shortish chinese gambler might put it in and i can reshove and get Gosney out.
6k thing is def dirty and something i would never do Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: EvilPie on December 15, 2011, 03:57:15 PM 3 bet's pretty bad against Lawrence from what I know.
If you 3 bet he'll peel any 2 and will give up on any board that contains an A or K because he'll put you on a big hand. Even if he's got an A or K, himself unless he makes 2 pair he's not going to put too much more in the pot. Peel pre definitely best to disguise the strength of your hand. Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: outragous76 on December 15, 2011, 04:06:17 PM Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: GreekStein on December 15, 2011, 04:10:28 PM LOL what matt?
Lawrence gonna give up when an a or k hits? If the flop comes a93 and he has 34 / 910 / ax / 1010 he isn't 'not putting much more in the pot' as you say. Maybe I just played against him a few times when he was playing uber terrible. In dtd monte carlo last time I busted him in like level 3 when he check raised turn for like 4x pot after I'd checked back top pair on the flop having raised pre and him defended. I called with top pair, no kicker and held vs his flush draw and no overcard to my jack. Was only like 100 bigs he gave me there tho :) Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: EvilPie on December 15, 2011, 04:16:47 PM Just what I've seen when I've played him that's all.
Maybe he mixes it up more than we know which makes it even tougher to play against him. I know he's very unpredictable that's for sure. Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: George2Loose on December 15, 2011, 04:24:24 PM 3 bet smallish to take lead in pot cos he's not folding anything pre this deep
Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: outragous76 on December 15, 2011, 04:29:37 PM lol @ lawrence holding an A or K in this hand
maybe like a K7s or something This deep Lawrence is just going to make you squirm post flop - just call and play the hand oop and for value Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: GreekStein on December 15, 2011, 04:34:30 PM Why u nuthug him so much guy
Title: Re: Live Sat: DTD Monte Carlo Post by: outragous76 on December 15, 2011, 04:36:39 PM Why u nuthug him so much guy im not, i think i could play against lawrence better than most ppl in this thread - i have played with him alot and 3 betting AK this deep OOP is going to be a losing play much of the time |
