Title: Horse racing book as xmas present
Post by: DaveShoelace on December 15, 2011, 11:32:33 AM
Gotta buy an xmas present for someone and he loves the GGs, can anyone recommend a decent book on the subject?

He knows what he is doing in general, so I would say a biography type book would go down well.

The Barney Curley autobiography is a good read I'm told - trainer, punter, organiser of massive coups and most perplexingly a confirmed large-scale philanthropist.

The Barney Curley book isn't bad.  If he is a punter then Patrick Veitchs book "Enemy number One" is interesting.  It is well named when I was a bookmaker in the UK Veitch was definitely the biggest headache I had on a daily basis.

Might I recommend 'Backing the draw for profit'?
