Title: Saturdays Football
Post by: claypole on December 17, 2011, 12:47:50 AM
I miss the Saturday football threads, especially the insights of Horneris who was on fire at the start of the year....

My selections for Saturday

Bristol City
Hull
Oxford
Charlton

Not sure of a staking plan yet - will probably be a mug punter and perm trebles and a four fold - although really fancy Bristol City at 7/5

Rly? expecting to win away from home when theyre 4/1. If it was that easy son, we'd be millionaires.

Swansea have just 2 draws away from home all season and scored just 6 goals. Newcastle are expected to have theyre main man Coloccini at the back, back and Demba Ba is a beast on fire and should have too much for the Swans defense.

Saying that, BH's mate said he really fancied Swans earlier in the week when they were 9/2. Prob best if i just dont touch the game tho as i can easily make a great case for Swans too.

Quite like Hull, Blackpool, Bristol City i think. Should all be good enough to get it done imo.

Longer shots, i think Norwich 6.4, Barnsley 6.4 and QPR 8.2 are all a bit too big but not sure massively confident, may just have a few small singles on them.

Everton struggling to score goals, West Ham have a lot of injuries and Loftus Road aint an easy place to go as Chelsea and City learnt earlier in the season.

absolutely no chance.

put your money in a pile and burn it instead at least the heat will keep you warm.

unless you're backing draw no bet, then you might have a shout...

I agree Swansea have a good chance to beat Newcastle today against a team struggling for players

Why not try the 11-4 draw no bet @ betfair  ?

Wigan at home v chelski are huge, gonna have a saver on the draw. I think they may squeeze a goal up and hold. Saying that the last footy bet I mentioned on here fell down after 17 seconds in the real v barca game. Pfffft.

Aberdeen seem a bit long at 23/20 vs hibs who could have striker problems with suspension and injury.

i'm 100% opposed to this view. Good luck to you though.

I'm more interested in Wigan @ 9/1

Don't think you can have a view on the Newcastle game until the teams are up - and most importantly whether Williamson and Colliccini make it tbh...

...if we have to play two average full backs at Centre Back again, I am sort of with Trigg - although I prefer DNB, amkes a huge difference

yeah, defo team dependant. Sounds like the 2 CB's will make it from what iv read, especially Coloccini.

I am not sure that negative team news isn't already in the Newcastle price.  I was expecting them to be 4/6-8/13 and wanted to be with Swansea big but at this price I don't love it.....definitely couldn't back Newcastle and maybe a v small bet on Swansea if the defenders don't make it but even then overs would be a better bet I think to take advantage of Colocinni etc being out.  Wigan I kinda like the thinking but hate the fact that they are 15-0 down over the last 180 mins of football v Chelsea here.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the bet of the weekend imo....Bolton @ 5/1 is a steal especially if Zamora is out.

Agreed on Bolton being big, i just can't back them though, their squad is so poor.

Fancy a side bet Guy?  I take all the homes and Bolton and you take all the aways and Fulham.  Mythical £1 on Ladbrokes (or any other firm) and the winner is the person who makes the most or loses the least.

Newcastle team v Swansea: Krul; Simpson, Perch, Coloccini, Santon; Obertan, Cabaye, Tiote, Gutierrez; Best, Ba

for anyone interested.

Tiote back is huge, Coloccini in too. Best back too, can always be a threat.
