Title: Computer Issue
Post by: MrsHopkino on December 19, 2011, 03:03:41 PM
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could possibly help me??

I am trying to forward some attachments to some via Hotmail i.e word documents - nothing large and there is an error stating..... "The following plug in has crashed - silverlight plug in"

Does anyone know what this means and how I can go about sending my documents?

Thanks!

no idea why silverlight is required?

Have you tried saving the docs to your hard drive, then reattaching them to a new mail?

Silverlight is Microsofts answer to Flash. Sounds like it's crashing, memory issue maybe.

If retrying doesn't work, you could open a www.dropbox.com account, put them in there, then give the dropbox username and password to the recipient.

MSN is a very 'noisy' page, with loads of ads, some may be Silverlight.

Try sending them as attachments rather than 'office docs'.

Thanks, I just can't seem to open the documents either from the original email... (don't seem to have them saved on this computer either-whoops)

Will try that website and see if anything happens!

Thanks

You used to get sent docs in Hotmail, and you would read them from the saved version and then you could pass this on in another email.
Then computing went all 'Cloud' based, Microshoft included, so that it looks like you get a document sent, but in fact you're just partaking of an online 'shared' document. You could try maybe selecting and copying and pasting all of the text into a document in your own Word client, then sending that. Failing that, we'll just have to wait for Tikay. He knows tech stuff.
