We don't have a total, no, as several are "unspecified".

If we can continue to try & get a donations, any balance to top it up to the necessary level will be taken care of, if need be. An agreement has been made that if we can get in excess of the MC cost, the balance will divert to the Live Update Fund, but we are a goodly way shy of that yet.

Compared to my day, he'd be easy-peasy. Red-Dog, who shared a table with him in the MC, told me he was medium-weak. Think Tom was being kind, too.

I'm not sure as to the arbitrary diversion of excess funds into the live update kitty for the simple reason that there might be other people such as myself who feel that the venues should pay for them.

I'm obviously more than happy to reward tighty for his super-human efforts so if there is any excess let's round it up to another tourney entry for him and keep the two funds seperate.

All the family are doing well, Connor is 4 now and Caitlin will be 2 in Feb. The boy is almost a mini me, he deffo got the Quayle cheeks. I can confirm that 2 year old girls are moody, tiring and the reason I watch a lot of things on Sky plus at 3 in the morning but we wouldn't change a minute of it, so life is good.

A lot of the payments I received had no reference, or an "obscure" name which I could not tie in to a blonde alias, so if you have sent me the cash, & I have not reflected that in the OP, please PM me with confirmation, thanks.

Assuming everyone pays - & I'm sure they will - we now have more than enough to pay for the full Monte Carlo entry.

The first £1,070 will be used to fund that, & only AFTER that has been funded, will the surplus be diverted to Live Updates.

At present, the actual total remains unknown, as several donors have yet to specify an amount, so it's a bit awkward to settle everything cleanly as of yet.

I spoke to Flushy yesterday, who had promised a very generous but undisclosed amount. As the MC Entry fee is now likely to be fully Funded by others, he will divert his promised donation to fund a Live Update(s), but we'll set that aside for now, & not seek payment yet, until the fund can be properly totted up & settled.

Numerous - at least 3 or 4 - blondes have offered their services to do the Update for the MC which Tighty eventually plays, I'll get back to them in due course, as the picture is unclear at this distance. 

Several suggestions of extra donations have been made if Herbie does the Update...... I would add to that most dubious of ideas the notion of the Update being done jointly by Herbie & Caroline. The mind truly boggles. Send for the Legal Team.

But you're right, there's a lot of talk about avoiding clashes between venues and the larger events and yet this weekend is one begging to be filled.

There's a £500 comp at Genting in Reading this weekend.

Moves are afoot to limit the amount of clashes next year. For the first time in a long time, some live poker providers in the UK are speaking to each other, so whilst the crowded schedule is still an issue some of the problems of this year should be a thing of the past for 2013

These extra pledges will be much appreciated by Tighty.......however, we need to put our thinking caps on, as we already have around £1,350 (approx) of pledges paid. I'll bump the list shortly.

It's not for me to decline these kind offers, but what do we suggest we do with the surplus cash?

As far as my (poor) recollection goes, the "PAID" list I'm about to bump is up to date, except that one donor was refunded £30 at his request.

This, as far as I can see, is the up to date position of "PAID", except that it is £30 overstated, so as you can see, we are well north of £1,000 already.

Its meant to be a one off tournament, not an ongoing obligation to people

If there is extra beyond that one event, as it appears there is, I am quite happy to play a second (!) eg GPS at DTD in Jan if there is enough.

More realistically though, donation to a worthy cause is probably better

Yes, I did not want to say that, as it seems ungrateful, & is not my place, but I 100% agree with that.

We will close the Fund for donations as of now, then get our head round what to do with the surplus, & further donations, in due course.

Had a torrid/exhilarating time all day big blind to Chris Brammer's button. Think the eventual score in important pots was 5-0 to him, perhaps 4-1. Quite an experience, he had his foot pressed to my throat most of the day :-)

Well it happened, & I think Rich had a perfect ball. Sitting with Mr Brammer all day, really, is as good as it gets, & I'm pretty sure he loved every moment. Far better than sitting with easy meat like DimTom & Co, imo. 

I now need to tidy up the Accounting.

There were, I think, 2 names missed off the list, I think Bob Alike reminded us, £20 from him, & £25 from John Black. There was also £30 refunded to one Gent.

I spoke to DTD last week, too. At one time, they pledged "rest" or whatever, at the time that was £350, but we had a sort of agreement that they would cover any shortfall.  I did not mention this "fallback" on thread for obvious reasons, or everyone wold have stopped donating.

So I need to chat with DTD, & see what figure they are comfy with, then we'll know how much is left over.

There was a suggestion that we'd stick Rich in the Genting thing, in January, I believe.

OH HI DER!!!!  I can't help but thinking this was a 'soft' comment, and I know how much you hate them!!!!

I kept meaning to pledge some dollar to this thread, I think tighty does a great job with the updates and deserves to have some reward for doing so.  If we do decide to give tighty another spin (and he's OK with it), then I will happily donate £30 to the cause.

Though I can't help thinking I've donated enough of my reputation at the hands of his updates!!!!!
