Title: Top 2 in a double straddled pot
Post by: rfgqqabc on December 28, 2011, 03:38:16 AM
1/1 "Pub" poker league hand here. I've straddled playing £440~ and have everyone covered in the hand

1/1/2/4 I'm the two

I have KQo and a tightish player who has been drinking but has still been fairly tight, makes it 14 from the big blind. He has been 3bet by me, and cold 4bet once tonight, also by me. Prob views me as a bit spewy but ok. Double straddle is a fish, who loves to station and can bluff/splash around.

SB 14, i call with KQo, and double straddle calls. Flop is:  Qc Jh 5d

Sb asks how much is in the pot and bets 25. I elect to call. Fish calls.

I believe SB has atleast hit the flop and would check all air. Fish could have anything from 56o here to Q9/JT etc here. Not AQ/QJ etc

Turn  Kh: SB checks pretty quickly, i bet 50, which is called quickly by the fish. SB moves all in pretty much snap. Its 210~ more for me to call. Fish has a similar amount to me.

If this post is incoherent, i apologize and will clarify in the morning, a few beers in

Gross spot, it's seriously close. Because you've said it's a pub game and he's taken a weird line i don't wanna discount spazzing from his range too much which makes me think call. However with stacks and the fish in the pot it would be crazy for him to be light here...and we're not ahead of much of his value range at all. It's basically seems really close to me and also really villain dependant.

Think id be really happy getting it in here- looks a great spot, hard to see how we are ever beat, he is far more likely to have pr+combos, worse 2 pair

id never fold, fish can have 9T or even AT for sire but he can also have just about everything else K5 JT etc. the SB seems like he has AK/KQ/AQhh or a hand like that, what else does he have, JJ? meh I'd just call it off annd be pretty happy about it, you can defo be beat but you can also be fading >8 outs for a triple up which is pretty dam nice

Bit more info- Sb beats 50/100nl online and probably wouldn't bet AT on the flop. I don't think he could have AK here either, he is normally pretty straightforward

you mean 25c/50c and 50c/$1 or $50/$100? either way I'm still not going to fold

This fact means that he can have alot more marginals in his range (despite being straight forward), as it looks a semi-decent spot to squeeze us off bad 2pr/TPTK hands that he wants to iso vs fish whos range is wider than the Atlantic.

Id be more worried about the fishes hand here than the SB's if im honest, but Im still never folding

25c/50c and 50c/1$

Results: I folded, fish called pretty quickly with Q6hh, who folds a pair and a flush draw. SB has KQo as well :(
