Title: Vegas Question Post by: Girgy85 on December 28, 2011, 04:33:40 PM Taking Mama G to Vegas next December for her 60th. Shes taking a friend and was wondering if its better/cheaper to get a suite with 2 bedrooms or to get 2 seperate rooms?
Also which hotels have the best/cheap-mid budget suites? Title: Re: Vegas Question Post by: KarmaDope on December 28, 2011, 04:36:49 PM 2 separate rooms IMO, but maybe worth ringing whatever hotel you choose and asking for connecting rooms if possible.
Assuming first time, would recommend Flamingo's/Bally's/Paris/Harrah's or maybe Mirage (I'm a Caesars whore as they dont have resort fee, but Mirage is MGM and does) Title: Re: Vegas Question Post by: Marky147 on December 28, 2011, 04:40:17 PM 2 Separate rooms ainec
Harrahs/Flamingo would be ideal I'd say Title: Re: Vegas Question Post by: Woodsey on December 28, 2011, 05:56:39 PM Im at flamingo now with my mum and its spot on for what my mum wants. Can deffo recommend. Also get your own room chances are you will end up coming and going at different times to her. They will put you within a few doors of her no problem.

Whilst there is an older crowd there they won't be able to have a mooch around without faffing with taxis all the time, not ideal for a couple of old birds. Flamingo, harrahs, ballys is deffo older crowd too..

Doubt she'd wanna mingle with any coffin dodgers anyway. Shes knocking on 60 but shes not that old. Title: Re: Vegas Question Post by: Woodsey on December 28, 2011, 07:03:27 PM She is spot on age for how I'm defining older crowd. 40-70 is the majority age range at those suggestions I've given. Of course she may want to hang with the cool kids at the hard rock cafe instead........
Title: Re: Vegas Question Post by: rex008 on December 28, 2011, 07:08:38 PM Someone on here recommended http://smartervegas.com/ to me. Very useful for hotel stuff - stick in your dates and it comes up with all the offers that are valid for that date. You'll probably get almost nothing for next December, but they'll start arriving 9-6 months in advance. I'm doing Mirage with 3 mates in March, and found the rate there, although its cancellable, so if anything better comes up before then, might change. Good rates for Mirage though I think, and it's a very good mid strip location.
Title: Re: Vegas Question Post by: SuuPRlim on December 28, 2011, 11:00:39 PM I think that's a really sick birthday present actually girgy. How long you going for? and when?
a friend of mine flew his parents out there a while back for there 40th wedding anniversary and I remember him saying he put them up at harrahs (although it might have been paris, but still the same sort of thing) but either way I remember bumping into them a few months after and they said the hotel was PERFECT and they loved it. If so hotels will be busier/more expensive than normal as town is really busy that week with all the cowboys in town, so get your hotel booked as soon as you find a good deal, don't hang about. I know it sounds fairly lol, but I've been in town at that time before and its pretty busy. His name was Jason Jetter, and my friend enquired what he did "Im a bull rider" in thick Texan accent my mate falls about laughing, im apologising whilst picking him off the floor "whats wrong with you" i enquire he eventually manages to get out that the French verb Jette is to throw or be thrown! we got the impression he was a big deal just by the fact that people were interested in us because we spoke to him. I guess it was an "in the moment gag" but it was pretty funny. And yeah, he was wooshed in a way i could never descirbe. I guess no one likes being randomly laughed at. Fair play to him, he wasnt rude or anything, and we got the impression he was a "big deal", he just ended our chat swiftly!
