Title: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: lazaroonie on January 09, 2006, 03:09:22 PM Thought it might be appropriate to start a seperate thread to show our appreciation for all the staff at the broadway. It is a top venue, and all the floor staff, bar staff, valets, are all top notch as well.
Big up to the dealer who never tired of explaining the rules of 3 card casino poker to me in my tired/emotional state at 3am, and explaining that playing blind every hand was probably not advisable :) so, if you want to thank the staff, maybe you can add a message to this thread and then blue wolf can print it off for the staff to see. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: dan on January 09, 2006, 03:11:31 PM nice idea, and a very good point. the staff were great. thanks alot :)up :)up
Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: MrMoves on January 09, 2006, 03:14:00 PM The best casino/card room in the country.
Thank you dik9. Bluewolf. The valets. That rather tasty dealer called Sandra (I think) who was still smiling at 4.30am Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: TightEnd on January 09, 2006, 03:15:13 PM I would like to thank everyone at the Broadway too
Particularly BlueWolf and all the card room staff who were terrific the girls on reception who had to process about 100 more new memberships in a couple of hours than they would normally get the Man (sorry, didn't get your name) who added four bottles of champagne for quiz prizes on the Sunday afteroon. Much appreciated and everyone else too. Fantastic venue, seen nothing like it to compare with it in the UK Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: tikay on January 09, 2006, 03:15:36 PM They were simply magnificenmt. It's not easy to handle the rowdy mob that invaded The Broadway - there were Scots amongst us - but they entered into the spirit of the evening pefectly.
Every single one of them. Wolfy - sorry, Chris - worked his socks off, & The Broadway must be congratulated on a sinmply great team. Wolfy himself was just spot-on, 100%, nothing was too much trouble. Sadly, as we all know, dik9 could not be there, but he DID do most of the groundwork, so HUGE kudos to him. We bumped into dik9 later - quite by chance, you understand - & thanked him. Our paths will cross again one day, & we will repay him. Don't know how we will ever repay The Broadway though - everything they did, they did perfectly. Thanks guys. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Highstack on January 09, 2006, 03:16:25 PM Ditto all that.
I am only an hour away and I will definitely be back there soon. Its nearer than Walsall and imo better too. I couldn't play Sunday night, but I will definitely be there in Feb for some decent freezeout tournamnets scheduled. Hope to see some of you there again. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 09, 2006, 03:18:08 PM ;iagree;
Can't add anything more than what's already been said. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: The_nun on January 09, 2006, 03:20:23 PM Yes Great staff, not one member of staff did I see that looked like they didn't want to be there. Now that is something. You helped make this weekend a very special and enjoyable one Thankyou.
The Nun xx Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Newportlad on January 09, 2006, 03:40:28 PM ;iagree; with eveything said above.
It was fantastic. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Sheriff Fatman on January 09, 2006, 03:42:36 PM I said on more than one occasion over the weekend that the Broadway felt like a trendy bar that just happened to have a casino in it, which is a great atmosphere and one unique from anything I've come across anywhere else in the UK. Definitely a winning formula.
As for the staff, the biggest compliment I can give them is that I hardly noticed they were there, such was the smooth running of everything to do with the tournament. Credit to all concerned. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Mr F on January 09, 2006, 08:48:19 PM Just seen this thread want to add my congratulations to the Broadway Staff.
Was sitting with Cupcake during the £100 and mentioned to him that I wanted to tell the manager how good a weekend I'd had and what a great place it was. There were two official type standing right by us so he told one of them that I wanted a word. I asked if he was the manager to which he quickly replied No he is pointing to the other guy who slowly came forward and asked if he could help, by the look of him I think he thought I was gonna complain, obviously I didn't and just passed on my thanks and he was very grateful. Top venue well done. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Longy on January 09, 2006, 08:58:00 PM Yeah i would like to echo what everyone else has said above. It is an excellent venue for poker (the best i have been to) and I couldn't fault any the staff. I would like to thank everyone at the broadway and dik9 for the magnificent evening they put on.

Well done all. T xx Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: jezza777 on January 10, 2006, 12:11:25 AM Absolutley Fantastic nothing was too much . I had a conversation with Bluewolf after getting dumped out of the tourney and still gagging for more poker....
" Can we get a sit and go started?" "yes m8" "chips " "course" "Dealer?" (really pushing my luck) "no problem" Genuinley brilliant. Thanks. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: tikay on January 10, 2006, 12:28:54 AM ...and they never charged a penny in rake, for either ther comp, or the SNG's & Cash Games, for which they provided dealers. How good was that? Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Robert HM on January 10, 2006, 01:23:34 AM Oh my goodness were do you start.
I arrived early to do a recce on the Friday and met Raj who was a great help and helped fill us with confidence and we knew than it was going to run smoothly. The venue is a cracker, lots of room all the facilities were top class. The dealers couldn't do enough, were helpful, cheery and totally professional. The help I got with the Heads Up comp was immense, so much so we only had one more tie to play to decide the last semi final before having the final at the Marriott. Chris, you have a great team and the ability to make it all work and work it did. Without you all it would not have been the success it was. No rake, no fees and all that food, a big thank you to the management. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Trace on January 10, 2006, 01:30:56 AM Do they do pizza delivery to Preston?

Thanks guys Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: BlueWolf on January 10, 2006, 03:30:29 AM Thanks a lot guys, i'll make sure everyone see's it
Must say tho i feel a bit bad that my 2 fellow supervisors James (JDNatureBoy) and Richard (Rich6by7) didnt get more of a mention as they did most of the running of the blonde comp on saturday as i hid by the cash games lol. I saw tikay saying he didnt know a way you could thank us at the broadway but really there is no need it was a true pleasure to host you all, and it kinda proves that i was right in making the move down here because of the potential i saw in the cardroom. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: thetank on January 10, 2006, 09:26:01 AM ...and they never charged a penny in rake, for either ther comp, or the SNG's & Cash Games, for which they provided dealers. How good was that? Top notch. We did our level best that they made enough at the bar from us to make it worth their while. Ta fae ;chieften; to all the broadway staff (and the taxi driver in whose cab Dave layed one mega mother of a guff) Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: I KNOW IT on January 10, 2006, 09:29:32 AM Thanks to everyone at the Broadway who helped make every single member of Blonde poker feel special and ensured that a great time was had by all.
Regards Craig Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Karabiner on January 10, 2006, 11:21:27 AM Best atmosphere of any casino or card room that I've ever been in.
Excellent friendly staff, thank you all, I'll be back. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Rod Paradise on January 10, 2006, 11:26:38 AM Yep, the staff were great. Thanks very much all!!!!
Wish I'd known in advance that supervisors etc are summonsed to the table be kissing noises.... Still it was nice to think for a minute or 2 that Stacy found me so irresistable she was publicly blowing kisses at me, and very nice of her not to say out loud "you should be so lucky Baldy". :-* :-* Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Mr F on January 10, 2006, 11:28:40 AM Yeah that was different, can someone explain to me the whole No Whistling thing? Someone was whistling on SUnday and got asked not to, wasn't sure why??
Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: SKIPPYSKIP on January 10, 2006, 11:37:23 AM Mr F i thought it was more like someone blowing your you a kiss lol 8)
Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: ifm on January 10, 2006, 11:49:33 AM Yeah that was different, can someone explain to me the whole No Whistling thing? Someone was whistling on SUnday and got asked not to, wasn't sure why?? Because it's a class joint!! It's funny but every casino i've been in does the kissing noise thingy. Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: RED-DOG on January 10, 2006, 01:35:10 PM The kissing sound is used because it's quiet and uobtrusive but it carries a long way and it's noticable amongst the babble of voices
it's the same sound poachers use to call their dogs Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Heid on January 10, 2006, 01:49:12 PM I have to say that ALL the staff to a fault were fantastic...you guys have some fantastic dealers there, and I will certainly be back:)

Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Mr F on January 10, 2006, 02:03:01 PM I'm surprised they didn't bar you Ironside after you kept breaking their lift to the poker room!
Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Ironside on January 10, 2006, 02:05:03 PM i only broke one lift they had in the casino next time it will be 3 as i wont be so sober lol
Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Teacake on January 10, 2006, 03:52:55 PM I cant speak highly enough of both the venue & the staff, absolutely different class.
I'm glad I got to thank the Compliance Manager (the chap that looked like Collina the footy ref) in person. Thanks to everyone at the The Broadway Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: onenote on January 10, 2006, 07:35:03 PM Staff at Broadway simply the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! regards Onenote Title: Re: Broadway Staff appreciation thread Post by: Poppet7 on January 12, 2006, 10:07:14 AM ...and they never charged a penny in rake, for either ther comp, or the SNG's & Cash Games, for which they provided dealers.
