Title: Put the Brakes on? Post by: jjandellis on January 13, 2012, 12:58:35 AM OK $11 1R1A 12k Gtd Stars. Early in tourney, but have good image. Villain is ridic loose and a quick check of OPR shows a 1% rating.

Although the boards paired I don't believe he's got the 4. He flats my c/bet, so I decide to fire again. Do you fire the third? If you do, do you keep up the aggressive bet sizing or try n move him off with a smaller bet like mine? Or do you just check it? Title: Re: Put the Brakes on? Post by: mulhuzz on January 13, 2012, 02:31:55 AM never getting to the flop without all my chips already being in the pot (assuming you know he's bad preflop, but I'm prolly 4betting anyway)
this is also a really bad board for you to donk as he generally only continues with hands that connected or are winning, plus you never let him bluff e.g. KJs or something by betting. Once called on flop I shut down without improving anyway. Title: Re: Put the Brakes on? Post by: muckthenuts on January 13, 2012, 06:38:45 AM Not a good idea to try and bluff a guy you've penned as a fish. The runout ends up being really bad to try and make him fold anything as well. I don't mind taking passive lines with AK early on in soft tournaments, but barrelling down oop like this with no hand kinda defeats the purpose of keeping the variance down.
A more efficient line could be to make it 450 pre. We're ok with getting it in pre with AK if this happens, but i would expect villain to mostly flat the raise and fold to a cbet a lot whether we hit or not. Title: Re: Put the Brakes on? Post by: Pugwashed on January 13, 2012, 04:21:09 PM I'm ok with 4betting and getting this in pre vs this type of player but flatting is ok. As played, leading the flop is terrible, he folds nothing better by checking we can get him to bet with worse. And again as played, once he's shown he's got something then fuck ever trying to bluff someone like this imo. Also, once you decide to bluff the river this sizing gets no folds, just jam but that probably gets no folds either so check
