Title: Up on the roof
Post by: ManuelsMum on January 16, 2012, 02:27:59 PM
The recent massive storms managed to topple a tall metal 'chimney' on my slate roof :( I thought it would be easy to get up and fix it but the slates are slippy as hell, even when I let them dry. Is there an easier way of getting up there and moving around without falling off (like I nearly just did)?

Looks good thanks, I have a double ladder, obv one bit has a couple of metal protrusions which act as a bracket for the other half, will that hold on the apex? I'm 16 stone and don't fancy what might happen if it dislodges.

You didn't have to go to the trouble of putting your own ladder up like that to show me. Much appreciated.

It might well do, but I wouldn't bet my life on it.

I'll give it a go thanks, is a pretty steep incline. Would prefer a hand but I'll have to go up on my own. If you don't hear from me in half an hour you know it's gone a bit awry lol

Lol. What a zany way to go, eh? RIP Rod. Emu has felt a tremendous emptiness inside ever since.

All done, ladders worked a treat thanks.
