Title: Wembley Parking Post by: maldini32 on February 03, 2012, 01:45:16 AM I will be going to watch England v Holland later this month.
Would it be better for me to park further north and get a tube in or to park nearer the ground? I will be taking my 2 nephews with me they're 9 and 13 so ideally would prefer not to use the tube. I'm travelling down from Bradford so don't want to be stuck in traffic that's too bad. I've had a look online and parkatmyhouse.com has come up with what looks like a decent offer - half a mile from the ground and a supposed quick getaway. Any advice would be appreciated. When Leicester had the spell of being at wembley like 4 years on the trot we used to go on mini bus and tried all ways ...best was parking away from wembley and getting tube Title: Re: Wembley Parking Post by: david3103 on February 03, 2012, 11:42:49 AM I used to go to all the England games with my dad when I was younger (1966 to 1977) We always followed the same routine. Drive to
Stanmore tube station and 4 stops up the Northern Line. You get the joy of a walk up Wembley Way and a quick escape post-match. Went back after a longish gap for the first game at the new stadium and it still works really well. Off at M1 Junction 4 (This is the junction for the A5, A410 and A41.) and satnav to London Road, HA7 4PD street parking near the station Title: Re: Wembley Parking Post by: Sheriff Fatman on February 03, 2012, 01:37:48 PM FWIW I used parkatmyhouse for a West Ham game last season and it turned out to be great value. Obviously it depends on who's offering, but it's a great site to at least check options.
Title: Re: Wembley Parking Post by: nirvana on February 03, 2012, 02:05:49 PM Definitely park at Stanmore or Canons Park and short easy tube. Not too packed if you're with young uns

The car park at the staton wasn't expensive iirc Title: Re: Wembley Parking Post by: ACE2M on February 03, 2012, 02:50:26 PM you can park for free at stanmore if you don't mind walking for 5 mins. The estate to the left is all double yellows at the start but if you drive for a bit into it it becomes park anywhere.
thats if you're desperate to save a tenner. Title: Re: Wembley Parking Post by: david3103 on February 03, 2012, 02:58:06 PM you can park for free at stanmore if you don't mind walking for 5 mins. I didnt fancy getting on the tube with 2 young uns at half ten at night with 60 thousand other footy fans.
If were stuck in traffic at least they're in car and iI dont have to worry about the hustle and bustle. Thanks for the info guys. |
