The new DTD £150 starts this weekend

Guaranteed at a whopping £50,000 players have the option to enter via low buy in online and live satellites or buy-in directly for £150 + £18. We hope this will appeal to all our players that loved the monthly 300 Deepstack as well as offering the lower bankroll players the opportunity to step up to a 2 day Deepstack event and gain valuable experience. "

Re-entries

Players can re-enter on either day once, so technically a person could re-enter 4 times, although unlikely

I thnk this is a change to procedures, cuts down on expenses for players who want two shots rather than spend £100 on a hotel to re-enter the next day  and boosts prize pool too I assume.

OP says " two Day 1's and the option to re-enter (available for Day 1a players only)."

Which is it?

I gather it is 1 re-entry per day, up to 4 entries total

Hopefully gonna go for the lot and get the 4 entries in. £672 is what two deepstack entries used to cost in the old days so only seems right...

Live Sats this week

Yes, we did schedule some live sats (my preferred option) but general consensus with players was that doing 10 seats every night online this week was enough for players that didn't want to sell out the buy-in, and further live club sats at this buy-in level was over kill, as £150 of within reach for most of our £50 players, so we cancelled them and put  a £50 + 1 Re-Entry on Thursday and have the option of being able allocate more dealer to seat more players for the £150 on Friday (if needed)

Re-Entry into £150

Feedback from players is that they don't like the restriction of Re-Entry only into the next Day 1 (again, my preferred option) as it forces people who have a budgeted of 2 attempts (should they be unlucky enough to get busted) to incur extra hotel expenses, we got a lot of flack for this at the Grand Prix and this was the feeling of many players at the Deepstack, so we've basically made it more flexible, effectively this means that a player could have 1 buy-in and 3 re-entries (2nd bullet Day 1a, buy-in Day 1b, 2nd bullet Day 1b) but I think this is unlikely and not too smart, as the player would need to get busted within the re-entry period on both days. Personally, my view is that for a £50,000 GTE, if the bankroll can afford it, play Day 1a, and re-enter into Day 1b if busted, I understand Re-entry into a comp that only has one day 1 - as you cant get back in again otherwise, but when there are 2 separate day 1's, its different. However, players have been pretty vocal about having this to me so we have adjusted the re-entry rules. Generally 20% of players re-enter at £150 and lower buy-in, and 10% at higher buy-ins, so its not a big deal really.

Its interesting that the no.1 reason why Friday seems to be getting more popular as a Day 1 with players that I have asked is NOT because they have the option to re-enter on Saturdays, nor was it because they are busy on Saturday's, it was simple that if they get through, they get a 24 hour break to prepare themselves for Day 2, I never actually even thought of that as a factor when we started offering 2 Day 1's for the Deepstack.

Is Friday likely to sell out and what time do they play until?

Last time I visited DTD there was a hotel nearby, what is the hotel's name and is there a poker rate with them. Is there a better option nearby?

Most folks stay at the Castle Marina Holiday Inn, Phil, no idea if it has a poker rate though.

I managed to satalite in for the Friday, first satalite I have ever managed to win online so I expect to get bust out first level...lol

There is also a Premier Inn at castle marina, rooms are usually around £70 a night as standard, not sure if it has a poker rate.

Saturday is it for me

I don't know what problem anyone else has with the holiday inn @ Castle marina but im a big fan and stay there all the time.

£55-70/ Night for single or double x double beds is a bargain and it is much more pleasant than the travel lodge or premier inn.

Since I just shipped a satty at first attempt, obv, I'll be along for the poker

One way you can do it is.

If  you go to the shop tab at the top of the dtd page.... Where it says poker club/online poker/online casino/poker/shop/news or the the likes, then once shop has been selected you'll find tournament buy in. In the word of a furry friend... simples!

Yeah Tony, I remember the cafe. It was actually in Smithfield meat market, I think we were looking for women if memory serves me right. I'm amazed you can remember that night, it was a few years back.
The mini-cab chap was actually touting us,  which is illegal. which is why I used my first class swear words............I think I told him " No, we'll wait for a real Taxi, now fuck off- you Motherscunt" it would have been something sweet & pithy I'm sure.

Dodgy taxi's seemed like a bit of an issue when we where down at Wembley last year. This guy in a bar said to us to have one more in his bar and he'd sort us a taxi out, we ask how much taxi's are, he said it'd cost a fiver, ok sweet. Taxi comes, when I say taxi I mean a Renault Scenic with no badges that clearly is dodgy, we get in and ask how much it will be to our digs, £30, GTFO thieving twats, ended up sorting a proper one that cost £12 or summit, sure went back to that pub.

Standard stuff, Ray, the context of John getting a tad irate with the minicab is that John is a pukka, licensed, black cab driver. Think he has a TX4 or FX4, I forget which. John is normally extremely quite, & reserved, you understand.

I think we had been to some charity poker event, & then wandered back to the old Gutshot to play some cash. The little bloke from 888.com, I forget his name, had a Hummer, which seemed to fascinate everyone, & he was giving the girls free rides, so to speak.

After we were done for the night, you said you would help me find & organise a taxi. When that poor minicab driver pulled up, I was about to jump in, & then you started on him. Never been so embarrassed. "Yes, quite so, bugger off" I added......
