Title: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Chompy on February 22, 2012, 05:58:39 PM Oh yes, those entries will soon be flooding in. Albania has already got theirs sorted. No chance.
Cheltenham week is when most get announced. That's gonna be busy. Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: tikay on February 22, 2012, 06:00:23 PM FFS. What next, Celeb BB? This Board is for proper punters only, we don't want bloody amateurs here, so flounce off. PS - Any chance of a selection on the Tikay Tips thread first? Scoop me baby. Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Chompy on March 13, 2012, 05:01:35 PM 7/4 Sweden
6 Russia 10 Denmark 16 Serbia 20 Spain, UK, Norway, Germany, Ireland, Turkey 25 Iceland, Italy 33 Cyprus, Greece 50 Estonia, Azerbaijan, Slovenia 66 Romania, Ukraine 100 Bar Sweden is a proper song, defo the best, and is going to be very hard to beat tbf. Just the concern that it's club music and that Denmark and Norway are jiggers, which will split the Scandie vote. Russia should not be 6/1. Bunch of grandmothers in Russian clobber. Sure can sing. Serbia is a grower but not sure how many of their Balkan buddies will make the final to give them points. The ante-post market will be dominated by Sweden, so not huge scope for Serbia to shorten dramatically. I'd rather wait and see how many Balkans get through the semis and what draw Serbia get. Will take half the price if they land 16+ stall with three neighbours through and be pleased. Jedward are shit ok, and if the chance comes to place lay them ok, go all in ok. They are not popular in this country, as shown by their Celeb BB defeat as favourites, and they finished well down the field last year, so Euro types don't like them either. Will be laying them to be out of the first four and out of the first ten nearer the time. Estonia is worth a watch just for the amazing eyebrow work. Comedy stuff elsewhere. Austria...Trackshittaz sing about noodle soup. Vee are funky ya? Netherlands isn't hopeless at 300+. Simple song if dated. Eleven entries still to appear. No bet for now. Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Chompy on March 13, 2012, 06:44:57 PM Angledonk is gonna be in a rocking chair apparently. Doesn't matter what his singing imo, his a no channer.
UK is one of the songs yet to appear on facebook. There's nowt com about ESC imo, easy moneyz. Full-bank lay of Jedward in the top ten market once they've stumbled past the likes of Albania and Portugal in the semis ftw. Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: seven2unsuited on March 13, 2012, 08:59:30 PM Last year I had italy e/w and year before, portugal(2 pianos)? 50's and 80's something like that, surely be another this year with crazy odds in top 4.

Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Nico29 on May 16, 2012, 06:01:45 PM Yeah I too like Serbia, 16's ew with boyles top 3, or 14's elsewhere first 4 looks a good ew bet. Really good pedigree in eurovision (2nd b4 and has even hosted the show) and is well known in loadsa euro countries. My only gripe was it seemed quite a short song, but meh didn't drag on for ages, should appeal to wide audience too, even got violens and stuff! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75weifR47m0 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%BDeljko_Joksimovi%C4%87 Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Nico29 on May 16, 2012, 06:04:40 PM Serbia is a grower but not sure how many of their Balkan buddies will make the final to give them points. Will take half the price if they land 16+ stall with three neighbours through and be pleased. Yeah sounds fair enough, though I gen think this song should appeal throughout Europe. Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Chompy on May 16, 2012, 06:45:27 PM ESC songs have to be under 3mins and Serbia comes in right on the money.
All depends on the draw and the semi results for me Nico. If it's drawn 3 and only two neighbours through, forget it. If it's drawn 20 and three neighbours through, get on. Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Nico29 on May 22, 2012, 05:54:07 PM Eurovision semis, i see boyles/stans esp are way outa line on some prices compared to betty.
Serbia obv look a dirty ew bet for the 2nd semi, any thoughts? I think cyprus as low as 10s for the first semi are a decent ew price 1/4 odds first 3 at 22s. And Estonia for the 2nd one at 25s look ok too tho its 1/5 odds best probs due to sweden taking so much of the market at 8/11. Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Nico29 on May 22, 2012, 07:22:14 PM First semi darts i like:
Russia@4s-now 7-2-Gonna appeal and is strong on betfair, come on granny power! Cyprus@22s ew-now 18s -Ok looking singer+song and v strong on machine too. Moldova@33s ew-Pure cheesefest but place is gr8 value part of bet. Shld be a good 1! Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: bobby1 on May 22, 2012, 07:33:02 PM good luck mate.

Seems like just the sort of pap that could win. What are the odds, and the thoughts of the experts please? Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: bobby1 on May 22, 2012, 11:52:24 PM You can bet 40/1 with the firms, I don't fancy it much but that doesn't mean it can't win. Its drawn 16 which isn't brill but not terrible

I hate to admit to liking the song and they did give a fantastic eurogay performance. For them to be a bigger price than the UK is just bonkers.

I have very little knowledge of this year's acts, but I've been told to look for Italy to drop in price straight after their act, currently 19.5, also told that France very overpriced at 400's! Anyone seen these acts and have an opinion? Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Laxie on May 26, 2012, 08:27:30 PM "I'm pretty sure if they get her medication right, that will never happen again." rotflmfao Welcome to Eurovision 2012
Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Chompy on May 26, 2012, 08:41:17 PM Lines not open for voting until after the last song this year. That should increase the draw bias imo.
Also, performances on the night count for very little these days. Juries voted after last night's dressed rehearsal and most of the phone voters already know which way they're going. Ergo, wouldn't be worried by that awful effort by the grannies. Germany and Azer both turned in very ordinary performances on the night. I expect Denmark to shorten during the song for anyone looking for an easy trade. Went from 30s down to 25s in the semi the other night. Sweden is such a joke price now, If it wins I lose, end of. Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Chompy on May 26, 2012, 08:59:46 PM Think Estonia will do well. Kid has a voice and charisma, plus all very simple.

If it only scores 1-7pts with first jury, though, I'd be looking at max lay at 2.2 odd.
Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: superwomble on May 26, 2012, 09:38:55 PM Did someone suggest laying Sweden not just outright, but to finish in top 10? Or is my memory playing up?

Title: Re: Official Eurovision 2012 thread Post by: Chompy on May 26, 2012, 09:47:30 PM Out to 60. All depends on how Sweden go down. If they don't win it could be a weird year.
