Geos Not So Pointless Quiz

The idea of this quiz is based roughly on my favourite TV quiz currently running – Pointless - but with a twist.

All those taking part will become some of the people surveyed. Below you will see a set of 10 questions with 10 choices. Each participant makes a choice which I will tally.

All answers must be with me by 8pm on Friday at which time I will close the quiz to entries and then tally all the replies.

Later that evening I will repeat the questions as I will also set the questions to my workmates (about 25 people.) You then have to try to choose what you think are the least common answers given previously by all players and my workmates for each question. These answers will be the ones used for scoring.

Normally we would expect quite a few pointless answers so it is up to you to think tactically to try to prevent this and then decide if you wish to change your original choice.

This second set of answers must be with me by 8pm on Monday evening whereby the quiz will be closed again and these are the answers you will be scored on. The reveal will take place from 8pm next Tuesday

The player with the least amount of points will be the winner.

What happens if you choose an answer in the second round which was chosen by no-one in the first round? That is the 'Pointless' bit, I guess, but is it good or bad? I have a vague recollection that, in that programme, you have to choose the lowest answer, but not one that is zero, though I might not be remembering that correctly.

Hi John,

The first part is the "XXX many people surveyed" part. I then collate the replies and then you will have a second chance to submit a different set of answers, you can of course elect to retain your original answers. Zero pointers are good.

Hi Redsgirl, they have merely been given the 10 Questions with 10 choices and asked to make a choice for each. In effect I havea sheep quiz with my workmates and will incorporate their answers into those given by blondites so we have a wider number people surveyed.

Will your work colleagues just have the questions then? they won't have a range of answers to pick from?

They have the same range of options, prevents the lists getting too big and also new choices would potentially be too obvious that they were possible lower scorers (if that makes sense?)
