Title: PPI Claims Post by: claypole on March 07, 2012, 11:39:55 AM Deffo worth a look, know I am stating the obvious - however my recent experience with NRAM just amazed me. I had a loan with them for 15k, settled early in 2007. They were on the front foot and wrote to me a month ago. I didn't even know I had PPI - yes, I'm a clown for not reading small print. I simply filled in forms saying I didn't know and got a cheque for £2700 yesterday.
Money expert.com has some great templates, I have now checked my Experian credit file and pinged off another 4 letters to others I had loans with asking for copies of T&Cs (cost £1 per lender) - certainly worth everyone doing a review of what they have had. Title: Re: PPI Claims Post by: Graham C on March 07, 2012, 11:53:00 AM How do you find out if you had PPI on old loans? I had a loan that finished last year, but I have no idea on if I had PPI on it or not. Just signed up at Experian to see the loan btw

Guess its because NRAM is a Geordie bank lol Silo - got to money expert.com and there are some template letters. Basically, write to lender using letter and enclose a cheque for a £ and they are obliged to send you copies of the credit agreement and T&Cs. The news yesterday suggested more banks will contact direct as NRAM did with me...however I think no harm in investing a £. If you did there are other letters to then get claim rolling. Title: Re: PPI Claims Post by: aaron1867 on March 07, 2012, 12:35:50 PM Stupid question...
You only have been sold PPI when you have had a loan with the bank? I keep getting phone calls from somewhere asking about PPI and that I have been misold PPI, but yet I have never had any loans from the bank. I have a overdraft with the bank? Just very confused. The phone calls are from claim management companies who will take a third of anybodies claim for doing something which is almost free. They're just hiring a call centre to bombard everyone with speculative calls 'just in case' i.e. whether you've had a loan, or whether you've had PPI, or whether you've been mis sold PPI is irrelevant - the end conclusion is just to ignore these phone calls because you don't want anything to do with them. The send a quid and get a copy of your agreement method may not reveal if you have /had PPI. They can send all sorts of shit as a true copy as long as it has Creditor details, debtor details, prescribed terms. Carey (http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/QB/2009/3417.htm) If you know who you borrowed from it might be easiest to phone and ask. If you don't trust them and don't have a your own copy paperwork the a Subject Access Request is probably best as you'll get statements which you can check. Costs £10. I had a call like this last week. I just said "which loan would that be then?" and she hung up!
