Title: Imagine this situation: Post by: aaron1867 on March 09, 2012, 11:48:16 PM You are in a tournament and you are at a critical stage of the tournament too and this happens:
Your hand is Qd Kd Mid position has raised and you are in the small blind. The raise is 3xBB, but obviously you have a decent enough hand and are also in SB too. FLOP: 6d Tc Jd Action: You check to him and he bets out 3/4 of the pot, you re-raise him 3x his bet and he puts you all in. You have such a draw in this hand, what would you do if you was: A) On Bubble B) On the final table and you was both the top two chip stacks C) Your opponent was a nuts/tight player D) Your opponent is loose, but solid I had this discussion with a few people and it has been split one said the fact is you are still chasing and still a possibility of drawing dead on the turn. And other one said there is possibly 20 cards to hit, etc. Thoughts? Title: Re: Imagine this situation: Post by: Ironside on March 10, 2012, 12:11:52 AM i never fold this hand in any of the cases above
you already have too much equity in the pot might fold it if i had 10000000000bb behind and he had me covered Title: Re: Imagine this situation: Post by: sm00035 on March 10, 2012, 12:12:19 AM A) Call
B) Call C) Call D) Call Title: Re: Imagine this situation: Post by: JK on March 10, 2012, 12:26:07 AM Massively depends on stack sizes with A and B, but AB fold CD call generally. C we cant wait to get it in vs nits, D we have 17 clean outs + 5 potential outs.
A and B are massively ICM dependant and Im shit at that kidna stuff :D Title: Re: Imagine this situation: Post by: SuuPRlim on March 10, 2012, 01:50:41 AM A) Call B) Call C) Call D) Call might consider not c/r in spot b if you're very deep vs the other big stack, but if i c/r with this hand the only way i would fold it would be if I had to put BOTH my kidneys in the pot as well Title: Re: Imagine this situation: Post by: JK on March 10, 2012, 03:47:45 AM Forgot we'd CR flop. In any normal 20~40bb average comp we obviously cant fold any spot.
CR then folding is criminal and punishable by death imo. Will do a hypothetical post when I get home Title: Re: Imagine this situation: Post by: GreekStein on March 10, 2012, 09:01:30 AM A) Snap his cock off B) Snap his cock off C) Snap his cock off D) Snap his cock off fyp Title: Re: Imagine this situation: Post by: pokerfan on March 10, 2012, 09:57:25 AM Donk/shove >>>> cr/ call
Title: Re: Imagine this situation: Post by: kinboshi on March 10, 2012, 12:12:28 PM Maybe on the bubble of a satellite you could fold, but that would have happened pre flop.
When you play Kd Qd there are very few flops better than that, and you've always got outs and lots of them no matter what the other player has. You want to get all your chips in and he's just helped you do that. Fist pump as you do a little dance and declare your intention to commit the entirety of the betting discs that are in your possession into the pot whilst high-fiving the dealer and any adoring fans.
