Well its nearly time for my first major live game in the UK and i cant express how excited i am to play against some of the best players in the UK.

Alot of you might never of seen me about in the live circuit due to the fact i used to play online professional for 2 and a half years on UB/AP where i used to be one of the MTT regs on there site and would a memeber of poker xfactor until the dreaded black friday which killed the site. Before that i used to just play live at the local snooker club in a weekly game where none other then my mate Tommy 'The Beast' Bingham played when i believe we first started playing (feels like years ago!!).

This year i aimmed on moving my game from online to live and i can say so far it has been great. tourny wise at DTD i have only played like 4 events cashing in 1 and getting close to bubble in 2 others with some hands you would only expect online!! The rest i have been playing the cash tables at DTD on the 50p/£1 tables. Where i can say i was only like a hour off a free super 50 seat. But i can't complain as i only had one session where i lost like £60. All my other times i have ran £150 upto around 500-600 each time.

So friday is the GUKPT ME in Walsall which I'm looking forward to because of the great structure and is one of the oldest tours around. It's the first time i have ever been to the Venue and played this game. So any tips on anything including poker of course :D would be much appreciate. Will be meeting up with a few players i know, like Peter Wigglesworth and discussing some strategy and othe things. So if any of you are going feel free to say stop me and say hi...

I'm basically am freerolling in this event as i play for a Sponsered team on Bluesqaure and i basically got in for nothing which is always good :) gonna be doing the same for the UKIPT as well So i will see more of you there again.

It would be great to meet up and get to know some of the Blonde members personally when I'm about playing in some games. I have met a few people since my travels to DTD and i can say 95% of the people i have met have been nice and friendly and always looking at improving there game like i do, i do love talking about hands and strategy.

Anyways good luck to all Blonde members at the GUKPT this week and hopefully speak soon and see you at the Final table :)

Good luck in this - I am also playing UKIPT which will only be my Second Big Live Tourney - what are you doing to prepare for this - anything different?

Not a great deal different then i would for a big online game or long live cash session. Staying fresh by getting plenty of rest ready for the day. Studying my  hand history's from online and different strategy ideas for deepstack games along with basic brushing up on different elements of poker with regards to ranges etc etc. I will also be playing a few deepstack tournys on pokerstars as it has the same kind of feel to them.

Playing last night's GUKPT super-satellite - all + sundry present sweating profusely - a player asked them to sort out the air-con.

Ten minutes later, the door to the marginally less hot Casino area was propped open.

(Oh - and when we questioned the 10% rake capped @ £10 on the 1/2 cash game, we were told it was a "company wide standard charge".
When we pointed out it was 10% with a fiver cap @ Luton G they became defensively shifty     ....     we left).

I will be bringing along my supplies of Fruit, Nuts and Biscuits. Hopefullly DTD won't be too warm. Funny that the G in Walsall is so hot as the one in Luton gets very cold - no consistency!

Enjoy it your right about good rest before comp . It clashes with ept Madrid so a lot of the British players I know are there . Should be a decent turnout

£10 to deal a hand of poker is just taking the piss and I would imagine makes it hard to beat. Where do they come up with these ideas? Our great game is gonna go back underground I fear. So get ready for good home games getting robbed in next 12 months.

I played 10 hours in my local gala yesterday and paid £89 direct rake from pots won and fk knows how much it cost in real terms like when you stack some one but they been rake raped already.

Sick of it tbh. You did the right thing m8. Just don't play.

Yup. I am "hosting" 8 or 10 players from Team Sky Poker who are playing the Main Event, also doing some TV interviews & stuff, & a mini Live Update for next door, primarily following the TSP players.

Hope to be there all weekend, but if it all goes horribly wrong, I will either play the Walsall Saturday £500 2 dayer, or nip across to DTD & play the £100k Guaranteed £150.

Am staying @ the Village Hotel.
