Early stages of freezeout period Q4 in big blind One caller, SB completes, I check Flop QQ4......Cue champagne corks...now how they hell do I get chips SB check, I check, Limper checks Turn K Lady in Sb Bets small (Come to daddy...) I dwell, look anguished, fiddle with my chips and give it the full Hollywood Bowl. I smooth call Limper folds River 6 SB bets medium (it doesn't get much better than this...) I raise an enticingly small amount She beats me into the pot re-raising me all in.. I'm wiggly jiggling, doing cartwheels......I call She turns over... .... ..... Q4 Marvellous. I'll think next time as I count my chickens before they have incubated. Title: Re: I've never seen this before Post by: tikay on June 16, 2005, 10:38:02 AM Wow, nice story. Err, "wiggly juggly"? What do they teach in schools these days? Wiggly jiggly. Title: Re: I've never seen this before Post by: redsimon on June 16, 2005, 10:50:49 AM Could be worse..KQ or Q6 ;D
Title: Re: I've never seen this before Post by: TightEnd on June 16, 2005, 10:53:50 AM yes, I thought about KQ for about a nanosecond at the time.

Title: Re: I've never seen this before Post by: tikay on June 16, 2005, 11:58:15 AM Agree snoopy, the great moments of poker, when BOTH players have a monster. It just fascinates me to try & imagine what everyone is thinking!
In Notts one night (OK, All Our Yesterdays, yawn) the flop came J-9-5. Captain had JJ, 4 Finger Jimmy had 99, & I had 55. The beting was VERY canny, as you can imagine, each of us thinking it was Christmas, doing the full acting bit. It got even better when the turn card was a 5...... On another occasion (you still awake?) Thewy & me were heads up in the Final, the Bragging Rights were MASSIVE. I flopped the top boat, he turned the bottom boat. Imagine how slowly the chips went in! We had 470,000 chips between us I think. He made it 10k, I went 10 with 10, he went 20 with 20, it took an age. All accompanied by long dwells & pained looks..... Oh yes, and I won the comp. Thewy - who he? - did not |
