Title: Silly Flop Spot Post by: SuuPRlim on March 17, 2012, 03:26:15 AM I'm pretty happy with what I actually did in this hand, and it's such an anomoly of a spot I guess it doesn't really require much theoretical analysis but I would be interesting in hearing what other people would do if they found themselves here...
$10/$20 NL Guy is raising to $200-$300 blind every hand. 1 Limp, he raises to $300 blind I Raise to $1,000 with Ahrt Th, blinds and limper folds, he calls (looks at his hand as well) Flop: ($2,050) Ac Kh Tc. He checks. I bet $2,000 he stands up, does some theatricals and then raises to $7,500 So far he's played his draws passively, has a big ego and constantly talks about people dont have the balls to call him but has NEVER shown a hand when he's raised and people have folded. and this is by far the biggest bet he's made in the game. Ignoring the theatricals, given opponent profile best line is likely to call the flop, perhaps squirming a bit first if you can pull this off, and call his jam (or jam yourself over his bet) on most turns. Plus this gives you a second chance to do some ninja live read stuff. R.E the theatricals I cant really explain, they defo weren't the kind of theatricals that the minute they start doing them you know EXACTLY what's going on, it was more of a drunken mess asking me how much I have, counting his own chips babbling away etc not too much different to how he was acting all the time. Title: Re: Silly Flop Spot Post by: the rage on March 18, 2012, 11:39:13 AM I agree with Honeybadger too. Based on how you describe your opponent, particularly his opening frequency, i think you have to go with it, and treat it as a cooler if he has happened to have flopped the nuts.
You certainly get some tough spots in these high stakes cash games. Would it still be a tough decision if the stakes were much lower? |
