Trying to work out if this fruit machine tax is a good thing or not!

There's currently a one off licensing fee. Trying to work out if this has been abolished. If so good news. If not then bad news :(

No. You shouldn't.

It's a tax on the gambling site's profits and it won't come into effect until December 2014 at the earliest.

As Barry Carter said on Twitter, fear not you do not need to join the real world.

I love dem fruities but the only way I have ever known you can win consistently on them is too watch people who do not know what they are doing leave the machine at the wrong time. You then have to hop on. I assume you are implying you just have crazy skills well above this?

There is a bit of that. Nothing better than watching someone do their brains on a machine and jump on afterwards in certain spots.

There are then certain skills over and above that :) e.g. there's certain machines (not all - some machines suck) where if we were to both play it from the same starting point I would make more money because I knew the best strategy :)

You big tease.

My strategy these days is......

if it seems to be playing ram it full of money until i get mega streak......

then play a bit more just in case......

until i realise I best ram it full of more money because mega streak must be on the way again!

lol. Forcing (technical industry lingo there :)) for mega streak is the way forward on certain machines. On other machines it's suicide. DONDs can and will happily take £200-£300 off you before caving for example. Though I do like the feeling of being that much into the machine and sweating buckets wondering if you're gonna get much of it back lol

I thought from the title, with your recent excursions, you were going to talk about the dangers of STD's.

Thought your strategy was to play poker all weekend, win bugger all, play a bit on the slots and win some - then on the drive home stop at the services and bink the jackpot on the Holy Grail machine and get paid out in pound coins with a load of school kids watching on in awe?

The answer to the OP's question IMO is a yes.
From what I understand a tax is going to be imposed at "point of sale" for UK players to offshore companies that enjoy tax breaks and havens. They will not like this and it is going to be one big ball ache to implement. If it is going to cost them money you can be assured the cost will be passed on to the customer.
