Title: EPT Campione thread
Post by: TightEnd on March 24, 2012, 10:17:29 AM
The European Poker Tour will visit Campione for the first time ever in Season 8, where the Casino di Campione will host the event. Campione, or Campione d'Italia as it is more widely known, is a small Italian municipality located within Switzerland, 1km from the Italian border. It sits on the edge of Lake Lugano, and has spectacular scenery as well as modern amenities.

It’s also a poker hotspot. Campione has hosted many big tournaments previously, including the stops on the hugely successful Italian Poker Tour, which is now in its third season. The first visit of European Poker Tour takes place March 26-31, 2012

The €5,000 + €300 main event begins on Monday

I know cambridgealex is going across to play, and good luck to him. If I hear of any other blondes playing, or you do, post....

This thread for news, updates etc through next week

In Alex's absence, I transfer my run-good vibes to young David Vamplew, who I think is potentially an immense talent, & a very likeable & personable lad, too. Hugely intelligent & sharp, as well.

Ahh, I missed Rupert's name.

He is officially added to my Good-Vibe Group, for much the same reasons as Mr Vamplew, but more so. Both on the same road, Rupert is further along it.

I expect the British/Scottish thing on the news* is an urban myth.  He is an adopted son of England anyway, he has lived down South for some time.

* The news from London that is.

Scotland still belongs to us as far as I know. We should have kept some of the little African countries and given independence to Scotland instead IMO.

Not it's not.

Just gone 6-handed, excellent line-up, no weak links. Would recommend the live stream on Pokerstars.tv

His victory was made all the more sweeter by the fact he defeated one of the best, if not the best, heads-up tournament poker player in the world in the shape of Olivier "livb12" Busquet after a 75-minute heads-up battle at the end of a 13 hour final table.

The EPT next stops at Berlin on April 16
