Is it usual for them not to mention any GTD prize pools, or are they holding fire to see what happens with FTP?

SCOOP Event #1: No Limi tHold'em Six-Max

The inaugural tournament of this year's SCOOP is the No Limit Hold'em Six-max event that has buy-ins of $27, $215 and $2,100 for the Low, Medium and High respectively and e have players through in all three categories.

The Low boasted a guarantee of $400,000 but that was smashed as 25,520 players entered and created a prize pool of $638,000. This writer can remember the days when there were only 25,000 player on the entire PokerStars site never mind in a single tournament! Anyway, enough nostalgia for now.

These 25,520 were whittled down to just 42 players over the course of 41 levels and they are all guaranteed to walk away with $1,142.02 for their efforts but someone will pick up the $74,008.00 first place prize. Hopefully that will be thehempy, our sole UK & Ireland survivor, who will restart in 16th place.

The $215 buy-in Medium event more than doubled its $500,000 guarantee when 5,423 players entered and created a prize pool of $1,084,600.00. This huge field was reduced to 49 players and not only do we have a handful of our players amongst the finalists we have the overall chip leader! Heminsley is on course to pick up the $165,403.72 first place prize and he will be joined by currie7 (starts in fifth place), jonwayne69 (13th), dx2celt (35th) and NININI12345 (45th). Also still in the field is Team PokerStars Pro Online Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen who despite being Danish live in the UK so we will claim him as our own!

Last but certainly not least in regards to the first event is the $2,100 High tournament that attracted 784 players, more than doubling the guarantee. Forty-one of the starters will return to their virtual seats at 16:00 UK time and play out the the remainder of the $1,568,000 prize pool.

Fiskin1 is our best placed UK & Ireland player in fourth place and he will be joined flying the Union Jack by the likes of _JMCD_89 (15th), raidalot (16th) and JIZOINT (29th). Each of our heroes has now locked up no less than $6,742.40 but each will have at least one eye on the $282,240.00 first place prize.

SCOOP Event #2: No Limit Hold'em

Event #2 was another two-day event but this one played to full ring No Limit Hold'em. Like Event #1 this event had buy-ins of $27,$215 and $2,100 with guaranteed prize pools of $400,000, $1,000,000 and $1,000,000 respectively.

The Low event attracted 28,876, myself amongst them, and these hopefuls were reduced to just 70 by the time the tournament was paused; sadly without me amongst them!

You have to scroll down to 35th place to find the first of our players, Mafews, but he will be kept company by Ireland's reservoirak (39th), I_FLoaTUrBet (50th), Oi Frango (62nd) and only1westie (70th). Each of those players still has a chance of walking away with the $66,792.27 first place prize.

The Medium edition of Event #2's second day will start with 89 of the 8,240 players who began the tournament last night. Our highest placed player, if we discount the fact Lonndon-based Team Pro Viktor "Isildur1" Blom is actually Swedish is luckysir in 25th. He'll find the likes of doghowhow (49th), dean6745 (56th), Andrew "vikkyG85" Teng (69th), VeGeTTo89 (80th) and slim99slim (81st) as UK & Ireland players in with a shout of the $247,200.00 winner's prize.

The $2,100 High Event saw a 966 field create a $1,932,000 prize pool and a first place prize of almost $350,000! A whole host of our boys and girls are still amongst the final 50 players including scareface2911 (third), SamSquid (11th), pvas2 (23rd), Cejakas14 (26th), Toby "810ofclubs" Lewis (27th), VeGeTTo89 (28th), RLOG (43rd), and prrrak4783 (46th)

Yesterday was a good day at the virtual felt for a number of UK & Ireland poker players as the first two events of the 2012 Spring Championship Of Online Poker came to a conclusion. It was a case of so near yet so far for a number of our players but once the disappointing of narrowly missing out on a SCOOP title wears off the huge number of zeros on their PokerStars account balances will probably cheer them up some what.

Event #1: No Limit Hold'em Six max

We only had one UK & Ireland representative in Day 2 of the $27 (Low) edition of Event #1, a thehempy. He fought valiantly before busting out in 29th place for a score of $1,435.50. Although he couldn't progress much further on the SCOOP Day 2 he did finish as the runner up in a $22 rebuy for over $10,500! Congrats that man!

The $215 (Medium) version was much kinder to our boys because not only did our adopted Brit Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen finish in 10th place we also had three players on the final table including the eventual winner Heminsley. The last remaining four players struck a deal and Heminsley went on to become the official winner, bagging himself $123,868.99 in the process. The other two players who made it to the final table with Heminsley were jonwayne69 (4th) and currie7 (8th), jonwayne69 benefiting from the deal by picking up more than $90,000 when fourth spot originally paid out around $51,000.

The $2,100 (High) event was attracting much interest simply because of the huge prizes involved and, of course, the field was packed with stars of the online poker world. We had two players reach the nine-handed final table of this event, Fiskin1 falling in eighth place for just shy of $32,000 but he was outlasted by raidalot who almost went all the way before busting out in third place for a cool $156,800.00
Event #2: No Limit Hold'em

Unfortunately we did not have any players on the final table of the $27 (Low) buy-in version of Event #2 but we have to say congratulations to Mafews who almost made it there but ultimate finished in 11th place for a $2,634.93 score.

The $215 buy-in edition was a similar story with our highest ranking player, dean6745 seeing his tournament come to an abrupt end in 14th place, a finish good for just shy of $6,900. A big shout out to the London-based Swede whose name you may have heard of before, a certain Team PokerStars Pro called Viktor "Isildur1" Blom who took down the tournament for a payout of $247,200.00.

The $2,100 buy-in (High) was an absolutely thrilling tournament that cemented the UK's claim to being the home to the best online tournament players in the world. We not only had RLOG finish in 18th place but we also had Toby "810ofclubs"Lewis reach the final table before busting in seventh place for a score just shy of $61,000. Lewis was outlasted by one other Brit, ironically his own horse, Sam "SamSquid" Grafton who despite finishing in third place took home the most money, $234,194.06 thanks to a five-way deal that was made.

This is an absolutely fantastic start for UK & Ireland poker players in the SCOOP and let's hope it is just the first of many huge score for our boys and girls during this festival.

Viktor “Isildur1” Blom turned his attention away from the high stakes cash games and focused instead on the Spring Championship of Online Poker. Suffice to say, it worked out pretty well for him.

In the small hours of yesterday morning, Blom had reached the final table of Event-02-M, the $215 No Limit Hold’em full ring event after starting the second day third in chips out of the 89 remaining players. In the end, he took a chip lead to the final table and dominated to win the first prize of $247,200 for defeating the field of 8,240.

What’s more, he then finished third after the first day of the $530 Action Hour rebuy that was Event-03-H. He went on to crush the super-deepstacked final table, adding another $160,000 and a second SCOOP watch to his haul.

Who wants to tip 21-year-old Blom for a bracelet at this year’s WSOP?

SCOOP Event #3 was the first time the rebuy tournaments made an appearance. With buy-ins of $5.50, $55 and $530 there really was something for everyone and the prize pools created were huge. A massive crowd of 20,244 turned out for the $5.50 and by the time the rebuy and add-on period had ended the prize pool had swelled to an almost unbelievable $344,905.00! Our two highest placed players in this event were mddgfc who busted out in 10th place for $2,166.00 and toffee74 in 12th place also picking up $2,166.00.

The $55 buy-in Medium edition attracted 2,985 players who created a prize pool just shy of $510,000! Again we had no UK or Ireland player on the final table but John “HonestPete” Tabatabai almost made it there but ultimately finished in 11th place for a $4,456.81 score. Former EPT San Remo champion Rupert “ElRupert” Elder busted in 31st place.

The $530 rebuy price tag failed to put of 486 players from entering the High event who went on to create a total prize pool of exactly $800,000! The lion's share of this went to the Team PokerStars Pro Viktor “Isildur1” Blom who win his second SCOOP title and he was joined on the final table by thr UK's BiatchPeople who finished third for a cool $88,000. jamerOK finished in 15th place whilst bobivey and JackRich both finished in the top 35 places.

Event #4 was a game that most people cannot spell never mind play, Badugi. But one player who knows his Badugi from his elbow is WATP1873 who fell just short of victory in the $27 Low event, finishing fourth for a $4,030.25 score. DmatX33 of Ireland finished in the top 20.

Our highest placed player in the $215 Medium was PoobyPo5in 16th place whilst bergeroo and bestofiraq finished in 17th and 18th respectively. However, in the $2,100 version Zimnan “Zimmy86” Ziyard made it to third place for a $17,100.00 payout.

SCOOP Event #5 was a turbo rebuy tournament, this time with buy-ins of $11, $109 and $1,050 and the prizes on offer were massive to say the least. Event the $11 buy-in event has $447,360.000 up for grabs and some of our boys and girls helped themselves to a slice of it. The biggest slice went to ergo456 the 13th place finisher ($1,342.08) whilst swansfc_CJ came 15th and the adopted Irishman Steve “Mr. Tim Caum” O'Dwyer finishing in 20th place.

The $109 rebuy event's prize pool swelled past the $800,000 mark and we are delighted to say that one of our own walked away with the title. Sr amarillo was crowned the champion after striking a three-way deal that saw him scoop, pardon the pun, $99,913.65 for his efforts. This works out at around $20,000 per hour, not a bad job if you can get one! A massive congratulations to him.

The $1,050 more than doubled the $500,000 guarantee because by the time registration had closed there was $1,225,000 in the prize pool. Although we did not win it we did have JIZOINT on a start-studded final table, busting in seventh place for $41,650, that was also the home to the like of Martin “0PIGGYBANK” Finger and Nicolas “niccc” Chouity. Fellow Yorkshireman Paul “Paolo69” Foltyn fell just short of the final table in 10th place for $18,375.000.

Last but not least for this little round up is Event #6 the No Limit Draw tournaments. A big shoutout goes to PUCIPUCO who almost navigated through a 4,883 strong field before seeing their tournament end in fifth place in the $11 Low, a huge pat on the back to willmichigan who chopped three-ways in the $109 medium event for $8,972,76 (finishing as runner-up), Spraggs who made it to eighth place and OneArmReg who came 11th. And finally a round of applause for TripleMerge who can add a seventh place finish in the $1,050 event to his list of online poker accomplishments.

'Oh my' just about probably covers it.  I bubbled the final table in 7th.

I wasn't planning on playing it, but got the satellites mixed up last night and what I thought was a $50 sat into the event, was actually into another $215 satellite.  The target tourneys had all started before the satellite finished, so couldn't take the T$'s

Cancelled clients for today and am now off for some sleep.  All worked out well in the end ;)

Julian Gardner just beat 241 runners to take down the SCOOP 18H $1050 rebuy PLO 6max. Julian was chip leader when he agreed a deal with Phil Galfond and Jason Mercier to chop the remaining prize pool. The three agreed to go all-in after the chop to decide the official winner. Jules won the all-in hand for the title.

On Day 9 of the 2012 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) at PokerStars, 15 players earned SCOOP victories. Ankush "pistons87" Mandavia, winner of the WCOOP $10,000 High-Roller last September, added a SCOOP victory to his résumé. Also getting victories on Day 9 were Mayu "marroca5" Roca, Ariel "ArielBahia" Celestino, and Nicolas "niccc" Chouity. In addition, "JRADF79" made not one, not two, but three final tables.

Over the first nine days of SCOOP 2012, Shaun Deeb has recorded nine cashes, three final tables, and two wins. Unlike Blom, who won no-limit hold’em events on consecutive days, both of Deeb’s victories came in seven-card stud. His first victory came in SCOOP 10-H: $2,000 Limit Stud ($25K Guaranteed), where he bested a field of 64 entrants to take home the top prize of $41,600. Joining him at the final table were Team PokerStars Online George “Jorj95” Lind (8th, $5,120), Pat Pezzin (6th, $7,040), Team PokerStars Pro George Danzer (4th, $12,800), and James “Andy McLEOD” Obst (3rd, $19,200).

In the end, Deeb found himself heads up with ”TheMuppet”, who had a slight chip advantage. Initially, TheMuppet extended the lead, but eventually Deeb came roaring back to win his second career SCOOP watch.

Three days later, Deeb took down SCOOP 19-H $2,000 Triple Stud ($50K Guaranteed). Deeb was second in chips entering the final table, trailing only Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov, and eventually the two were three-handed with British pro Stephen “stevie444” Chidwick tagging along. Despite having Deeb out-chipped, both Chidwick and Katchalov were willing to make a deal that would’ve paid Deeb more than the value of his chip stack. Deeb turned it down however, and three hours later, he had every single chip.

Incredible performance from Shaun Deeb

With two SCOOP victories it looked like Viktor Blom would be the big story at this year's series. Despite that great success, Isildur1 has been eclipsed by Shaun Deeb though who bagged his third SCOOP win of the year overnight.

The Mexican-based pro beat a 74-runner field in the $2,100 Stud Hi/Lo – $75,000 guaranteed event to walk away with another $40,330. Not content with that, Deeb still found time to final table the $27 Low stakes one too. All told, the American has 19 cashes and seven final tables at this year's SCOOP, good enough to put him comfortably atop the High and Overall Leaderboards.

The Overall winner will receive an EPT Grand Final 2013 package, while each of the individual Leaderboard winners will get trophies and PCA 2013 packages.

The heavy-hitting winners continue to roll in at the 2012 PokerStars SCOOP with renowned pros Chris “Genius28” Lee and Dan “djk123” Kelly taking home titles last night.

Lee, a prolific high-stakes online player and 10-Game champ at the 2011 WSOP, outlasted an incredibly tough, 107-player field to win Event 31-H, $2,100 8-Game.

Kelly, likewise a WSOP bracelet winner and one of the best online poker players of all time with over $5.3 million in earnings, dragged his title in Event #29-M, $109+Rebuys NLHE Big Antes.

Three-time WCOOP champ Kelly earned his first SCOOP title and $73,040 after a two-way deal while Lee took home $58,315.
Kostritsyn, ElkY and CHUFTY Make Final Four

As has been the standard so far in the 2012 SCOOP, the fields in the high buy-in, mixed game events have been small but talented and that held true today.

Among the pros knocked out early in the tournament were Martin Staszko, Chad Brown and George Lind while Eugene Katchalov and Scott Clements held on to finish in the top 10.

Team PokerStars pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier made another run at a SCOOP title but ultimately had to settle for third while Lee and Alexander Kostritsyn had an epic, 1.5-hour heads-up match to decide the winner.

In the end, Lee prevailed and claimed his first SCOOP title.

Final Results - 2012 SCOOP Event #31-H ($2,100 8-Game):

1. Chris "Genius28" Lee (Canada) - $58,315.00
2. Alexander "joiso" Kostritsyn (Russia) - $39,055.00
3. Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (UK) - $29,960.00
4. Richard "CHUFTY" Ashby (UK) - $20,330.00
5. Kecinpulach (Czech Republic) - $14,980.00
6. Ig123456789 (Ukraine) - $11,235.00
Dan “djk123” Kelly – The Most Unheralded Pro of All Time?
Dan Kelly
djk123: So good.

When you think of poker pros with over $7.5 million in combined earnings live and online, Dan “djk123” Kelly probably isn’t the first player to come to mind.

The $7.5 million+ range is heady territory - and usually reserved for the Erik Seidels and Daniel Negreanus of the world.

But Kelly has proved time and again he belongs in the discussion of the game’s truly elite and proved it again last night as he dismantled a 1,659-player field to take the biggest share of the $491,400 prize pool.

Kelly didn't have a particularly easy path either as pros Nicolas Chouity and Ankush "pistons87" Mandavia both ran deep. Kelly and Mandavia ultimately decided on a deal to split the top two payouts fairly evenly.

Final Results - SCOOP 2012 Event #29-M $109+Rebuys NLHE (Big Antes)

( * denotes part of two-way deal )
1. Dan "djk123" Kelly (Australia) *$73,040.06
2. pistons87 (Canada) *$66,542.11
3. Blackbeaty (Germany) $44,226.00
4. matt20 (United Kingdom) $32,923.80
5. kripap (Hungary) $23,341.50
6. ro_Man777 (Germany) $18,427.50
7. djalminha (Portugal) $13,513.50
8. raare01 (Netherlands) $8,599.50
9. YugiohPro (South Korea) $4,914.00

The 2012 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker has just become the largest online series in history.

The raw numbers tell the story better than almost any words can. The 120 tournaments that made up this year's SCOOP had 526,154 individual entries, the biggest number since the 461,936 in SCOOP of 2010. If that's not mind-boggling enough, this year's SCOOP awarded $65,332,179 in prize pool and bounty money. Until this year, of all the tournament series PokerStars has ever run, the most ever awarded in prize pool and bounties was $64,230,010.

Ben Dobson (F3nix35) day 2 of the $215 6max going in 33/44, 160k up top

Loads of UK sweats in the 2k 6max going back with 41 players including Brammer, Frankie, Tom Mac (7thecrow7), Laurence Houghton (rivermanl), Moorman and Stephen Chidwick (Stevie444) still alive

ChipRich getting it done in the 1k main as Monda said, as are Jude Ainsworth (j.thaddeus), James Williams (Cottonbud07) and UK reg Gala_Terry who plays everything but seems to be pretty anonymous. Timex still in too.

In the 10k Frankie goes back 15/63 but he's the only UK player that I actually know. Anyone recognise any of these names? All UK and all still in the 10k: Mongy, Mafews, VL-Hannibal and Dr.Action

NeverScaredB goes in 2/63 - other assorted sickos left include Sorel Mizzi (zangbezan24), Dan Cates (w00ki3z., jungleman on FTP), busto_soon, mement_mori and betudontbet. 982k up top.

Best of luck guys

Yeah was thinking how many more players Canada must have than the UK. I'd assume many times more despite only winning 4 more titles

Really?

Canada has like half the population of the uk.

From the scoop stats site, number of entrants in scoop
Russia    63,530
Germany    60,163
United Kingdom    47,766
Canada    44,202
