Hi guys, sorry if this has been done before.

Please recommend an album here, it can be just released, or it can be from 1960, it doesn't matter. To help with this, link a youtube clip.

My recommendation to you, is 'How I got over' by The Roots. Its hip hop, but not gangster rap, or anything too upfront and aggressive. yes there's a few swear words (gasp) but it's a really soulful, laid back album that I think has something for everyone: its really accessible, and great to bang on while chilling at home.

If this thread gathers pace i'll put a few more out there, but won't just dominate my own thread ;)

Good choice, do you own a copy of wish you were here? if not, purchase immediately. don't get me wrong, dark side of the moon is arguably more accessible, but wish you were here for me is an unreal album. Also love Meddle, which is a fantastically chilled album.

Great choice.  Takes me back to my first year at University, when it was released.  Got played heavily at the time.

giving it a re-listen now.  without wishing to go too far into tmi territory, i forgot the incredible power of this album to make me feel a bit, well, you know :D

Read an article this week in the Guardian that made me revist Maxinquaye by Tricky and it really is an amazing album.  Almost hauntingly atmospheric and beautiful in places.  Also all of this talk of hip hop reminds me just how good DJ Shadows Endtroducing is.  If you have never heard it then listen to it.
