Irfan Pathan was injured and they felt that they needed an all-rounder to replace him to retain the balance of the side. Andre Russell was the only available option. They decided that they needed Jayawardene, Warner and Taylor in the side therefore Morkel had to miss out because of the limit of four foreign players. An awful decision, I think.
