Title: UKIPT £300 Side Event staking! [SOLD OUT]
Post by: JGill_DTD on April 10, 2012, 04:43:27 PM
I was scheduled to play the Main Event but 2 weeks prior to the event my backer decided to go completely AWOL
This left it too late for me to try and get staking for the ME, so having a shot at getting staked for this side event

I'm wanting to sell 60% of my action at 1.2 in the upcoming £300+£36 UKIPT side event on Sat 14th April at 8pm
This means I'm putting up £94.08 myself

Therefore;
1% = £4.32
5% = £20.16
10% = £40.32
and so on.

My background:

Played micro MTTs for the past 3 years, been a consistent winning player.
Unlocked on sharkscope to search my online stats - Gil3000 on both Stars and FT (obviously FT from a little while back)
Played in 3 big live events like this one:
Mincashed Notts UKIPT season 2 a year back;
Played Manchester UKIPT season 2, made Day 2, lost a flip to bust as I homed in on the bubble.
Poker 770 a month or so back - made day 2, fell short of the money
Hendon Mob - http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=188776

Play probably once a week on average live (more so online), £20-£50 F/O's in Walsall, nothing spectacular but been profitable.

For those that don't know, I've been on work placement at Dusk Till Dawn the past 6 months.
Been in the club doing updates on tournaments every weekend for the past 3 months. Just watching and studying my game really has improved the way I play.
I do believe I will have an edge over the majority ofplayers, as well as some of the regs since I know a lot of them, having watched them play for hours on end.

After playing Poker770 Simon Deadman said he would be more than happy to give me a reference, who said I played really well as I sat next to him for the entirety of Day 1

With no student loan for 2 weeks or so I'm low on money hence asking for the stake, and could do with the transfers sooner rather than later so I have the cash to buy in

10% - Tom Langley
10% - Richard Blacklock
10% - James Atkin
7.5% - Fraser Bellamy
5% - Dean Czyz
10% - Geo
7.5% - Claypole

60/60%

You dont have to do that - just wanted to support Jon because of help on updates and hes a student - but if youre happy to makes it a more worthwhile sweat :)

In a separate stake played the £100+£50 turbo bounty, 8k ss.
Regged an hour and a half before the event but due to alternates didnt come in until 150/300/25
Super aggro table, plenty of jams and marginal calls were turned into snap calls by players due to the £50 on top, over valuing the bounties
For the first 50 minutes of play literally didn't enter 1 pot, then got it in with 5 bigs and won a flip
then jammed very next hand with  Ac Aspades, ran into  Qh Qs for a 20k pot, Queen on the turn
finished 40/97, very happy with my disciplined play, obv saving any run good I may have in the locker for tomorrow

After a long gruelling grind where I never got above 20k, I painfully busted 20 minutes before the end of Day 1 in 72/280.

Started off with a very tough table, some very competent LAGs and TAGs with a nit and a station thrown in

Was down to 6k early on after making a couple of raise/folds and trying to bluff the renowned station on 3 streets, where I really should know better.
However without getting dealt any premiums managed to battle my way back up to 18k early enough

Soon enough the station and the nit are bust, exchanged for a couple of more strong players, as well as a notorious maniac (Ant Nicholls) to my direct left, Genuinely believe I had the worst seat in the tournament.

Completely card dead with plenty of preflop wars going on but stayed in contention with a couple of light 3bets, as well as a cheeky cold 4bet with  Jh 9s

Into the last level with 16 bigs, an active player from hijack minraises, sb flats and I complete with  9c 7c (possibly a bad call)
Flop -  6d 5h 3d
sb checks, playing 14k I check hoping to check/jam on the aggressor, who makes it 2,500 at 500/1000
the small blind makes it 5,700, yet another competent player
I feel he could be making a move, and could possibly get a 14k jam through, if not a double gutter and two overs is rarely in horrific shape here, so I jam.
aggressor rejams with  Jc Js
small blind jams with  Ad 5d, giving me a lot less equity than I thought I might of had and for a 50k pot I brick out

apologies for making no moneys, but many thank for those showing faith and/or generosity giving me a helping hand with the stake
