Title: Sage accounts tech help needed
Post by: david3103 on April 16, 2012, 10:42:58 AM
Sage hung when I first used it today. I clicked to process regular payments and it froze.

I managed to exit and rebooted but now it won't log me in again because it saysI'm already logged in.
Tried another username but that comes back with ' you only have a licence for one user'

Any help appreciated since I'm too right to pay for Sage support

Have you tried phoning them? I didnt have support on one of my sage products but if you get lucky the person on the other end will sometimes help you if your running good.

I had this message through the sage feeds maybe it has something to do with it?

HMRC have recently notified us of their scheduled upgrade times during this payroll year end period, and as a result, we strongly recommend that you wait until 14 April or later to make your submission.

If you submit your year end returns between 6pm Tuesday 3 April and 6pm Friday 13 April your online submission acknowledgement will be delayed. You will not receive your acknowledgement from HMRC until Friday 13 April.

We strongly recommend that you wait until 14 April or later to make your submission. This ensures that you will receive a full acknowledgement from HMRC and Sage Payroll can provide and display your unique correlation ID number for your successful submission.

If you try to submit from 6pm on Tuesday 3 April to 6pm Friday 13 April, Sage Payroll will continually wait for an acknowledgement from HMRC and your software will be unresponsive. If this happens you will need to press Ctrl+Alt+Del. For help with this, please refer to Ask Sage article 23843.

There's a lock file you need to search in doc and settings for something like

doc&set/all users/app data/sage/acc/2011/accdata/

and it's called something like queue.dta

if you delete that you can log back in.

If it's not that then it's caused by something different and I don't know

There's no point ringing Sage at the moment as it's everybody's year end so they're ridic busy and won't help anyone too tight to pay for the support.

Try next week and you might have a chance.
