IDK how anyone can say it's a terrible fold, it clearly isn't.

Instincts are a great thing and sometimes you have a massive gut feeling for something that theoretically can't be explained, if you're a talented poker poker and you chose to ignore your instincts and go with "I have top pair so im going with it" then you're just abusing the most powerful tool you have.

I agree from a theoretical angle it's a very strange fold, but David obviously picked up on something we, not being there didn't and chose to just trust his instincts.

Even from a theory angle it can't be the worst fold ever, old (prolly nitty) guy calls an UTG open and bets a KTXss flop 4handed? What's he got KJo?  AK, TT all really viable hands as are AQ and AJs which we're hardly thrilled to be facing down the streets.

Anyone who knows david will know he has some pretttayyy good live-reading skills. He's a sicko and this is obviously far from standard for him (or anyone else).

I just saw the Scotland flag and assumed he folded because he was a nit.

most amazing thing about this hand is that someone actually bothered to take the time to upload a video of it to the internet

granted its a nit betting a multiway pot but to call this a bad fold is just not normal.

obviously he doesnt always check fold top pair on a dry board everytime.... theres a reason behind it and I should think theres very few players that would make that pass in that spot.

plus he was losing, so how is it a bad fold?! to know youre behind in that spot, in my opinion is utter class

No way is that true. These pros you see on telly like Lederer, Jesus etc are good guys and very honest.

One of 4 things happened:

1) I misread my hand and thought I had QJ.

2) Noel whispered "I have them" in my ear at the start and told me to fold post-flop so I'd look like a hero.

3) I'm absolutely terrible at poker and got scared on such a big final table and suffered from brain freeze and panicked and folded and was just lucky he had me beat.

4) I used a combination of history, table dynamics, logic and various reads to decipher that I couldn't possibly ever be ahead and decided to check/fold.

I'm gonna go for #1.

Ah yes I remember Thomas high folding kk pre. Had I been in that situation he was in I believe I would also of folded. Dnt worry Tom I got ya back lol. Folding kings is just part of the game. Easily done especially online...
