Title: Live tournament hand
Post by: chiphungry on April 22, 2012, 03:36:35 PM
Playing the Incredible £100 yesterday and came across this hand...

I have a super tight image as i have only played no more than 10 hands up to this point, my stack is about 19k

Blinds 400/800 a100

I raise to 2k UTG with JJ, a guy in middle position pushes for about 7800 (he tends to call not raise, but i think my hand his still way ahead of his pushing range). The small blind then then grunts at the situation after looking at his cards waits about 10 seconds and shoves all-in, he has me covered. The small blind has been shoving very light but only in limped pots and when he had a short stack.

The big blind folds and the decision is on me, what would you do?

I'm a station so I'd call.

Fwiw considering your explanation of main villain I see him doing this with 66>TT

Thanks for your thoughts guys.

My thinking was the middle position shove probably had a smaller pair than me and I was way in front of his range. As for the small blind I don't think he hesitates with AA,KK or AK so I think he either has QQ, AQ, AJ here. I should have called but didn't want to be racing as my read initial read was AQ.

Anyway I folded... Middle position shows 10 7 off (I'm thinking Wtf?) and the small blind shows AJ. AJ wins the hand, J on the turn would have given me a set.
