Title: AA river fold?? Post by: LeeMcshane on April 24, 2012, 01:38:37 AM Had a spot in a $33 game on stars the other day and would like anyone else's thought process in this hand, or how would you play the hand or any idea on his ranges he could be calling with?! this early. The guy i was playing is a reg and has a very good ROI... so i folded this hand early on myself.

Title: Re: AA river fold?? Post by: Pugwashed on April 24, 2012, 02:13:35 AM Erm, reg's name? This is a weird hand and I'd only usually expect this line from fish, which means I'd pretty much always call. Unless he has a really weirdly played flopped set or 9h 8h then its hard to see what you lose to. From his point of view it seems pretty terrible for him to have got to the river with 44. Against regs its just doesn't seem like he's gonna be bluffing much and won't expect you to make big folds maybe this a fold but I never usually fold to this line but I only usually ever see it from fish. He check/raises sets so often on the flop or turn tho. I'm confused, I call.
I'm gonna soul read him for 8h 9h Title: Re: AA river fold?? Post by: Pugwashed on April 24, 2012, 02:16:57 AM On second thoughts, regs just don't bluff here. You can fold vs regs, call vs randoms.

he did tell me his hand and he had my hand nearly spot on well might as well been spot on... Title: Re: AA river fold?? Post by: WotRTheChances on April 24, 2012, 03:03:10 AM Not sure I ever fold here unless I know villain is a solid reg who will never be bluffing here.
Literally can only have J9hh TT or 88, which is pretty sigh, I guess 89hh sometimes, but a solid reg would be going a bit nuts if they were bluffing here/V-shoving worse. Title: Re: AA river fold?? Post by: FrenchieBeni on April 24, 2012, 02:18:45 PM Prolly calling although agree with this:
On second thoughts, regs just don't bluff here. You can fold vs regs, call vs randoms. hes repping only hands ala {J9hh, 89hh, QJhh, ...} prolly around 5/6 combos (dont see him value shoving worse than a flush given flop play). we're given ~ 2:1 so only 3 combos to find. (and we dont have Aspades, which is good :P) AA prolly = TT here btw. also, the more reggish villain is, the less flush combos he has given pf + flop play. Title: Re: AA river fold?? Post by: Nit Tendencies on April 25, 2012, 12:55:27 AM What's with this trend of blocking screen names? Someone could recognise the name and have valuable information to add.
