Title: Exit hand Post by: zerofive on April 25, 2012, 01:33:00 PM Incredible £100 at DTD
I know I'm tipping the scales by including results, but everyone's going to think I lost the hand by posting it anyway. I think in game everyone here plays this the same way, but I want to look at it from a GTO perspective. Not much info on either villain in this hand, but here's what I compiled over 6 levels (so like 80~ hands): Villain 1, stack 8k~ will peel a wide range to one raise and hasn't shown a willingness to fold when he is the OR. Villain 2, stack 18k~ reasonably nitty. Probably isn't terrible, but he made an ambitious call call to flop bet and turn shove in the last orbit with a gutshot that turned flush draw. Leads me to believe he's likely to overvalue hands. My image? Fairly nitty, if they're thinking on that level. 150/300/25 level, playing 14k~ Folded to me in hijack, I open 4c 4d to 650. Villain 1 calls otb Villain 2 raises from the bb to 1300 Obviously I hate peeling here, but I'm 100% certain that villain 1 is calling behind, so my immediate odds are fine. Reverse implied is not supposed to exist here. :P Do we reckon implied is fine given ranges? What ranges are you assigning? Flop (4,275) Kh Td 4s Villain 2 checks, I bet 1,850. Villain 1 moves all-in for about 6,500. Villain 2 doesn't think for very long and flat calls. So we're supposed to fistpump get it in here right? My question now is can we realistically fold this hand? What hand does your average £100 fish take a min 3bet pre oop to check call a bet/raise on flop with? Does he ever check AA/AK/KQ on this flop? Is he calling with QQ/JJ now? His hand looks ridiculously strong, but folding a set is hard work. Thoughts? Title: Re: Exit hand Post by: Pugwashed on April 25, 2012, 01:58:54 PM I don't really see anything you could do differently. Pre is kinda lol when he makes that 3bet but if he only ever makes it that size with AA/KK (seems possible) then your implied odds are good enough, especially with the button coming along. On the flop after the 3bettor checks, betting definitely seems best and even after he checks and flats the shove you have to just get it in, he can show up with stuff you crush and you're getting a decent price etc. It sucks that you ran into what was presumably KK but its a cooler. To make a hero fold you'd need ridiculous reads that he was only ever checking the flop with specifically KK but there is no way you could do that.
As for GTO perspective: I don't think you need to worry too much about taking a GTO approach against these players but once the 3bettor checks, it seems fine to have a betting range so why wouldn't sets be included in that? You could try to balance it by betting all your Kx+, AQ, AJ, QJ etc. And as for the second flop decision, folding 44 would obviously be ridiculously exploitable from a GTO perspective so don't. Title: Re: Exit hand Post by: Junior Senior on April 25, 2012, 06:06:13 PM What is GTO? Can't fold a set here IMO unless the read on the tank is Hollywood. If looks genuine tank and he is ABC then I scorch felt call
