Title: Live home game, 4 to the flop. Post by: bobby1 on April 29, 2012, 04:30:01 PM 9 handed £40 + one £40 rebuy in the first 90 mins, which only one person has taken.
Stack sizes as we play 50/100 in a nice structure utg 8k utg +1 14k, he has had the rebuy on my direct right 12k me just over12k utg who is a little tricky flat calls, which starts some banter led by me of uh oh this might get messy and a bit of general leg pulling. utg +1 who is pretty loose and steaming a bit from some pre game punting woe flat calls too. next to act looks like he is going to make a raise but flats too. He can be a little over zealous with his bluffs and bet sizing too. My rep is pretty loose but I am an ok player in this line up and have been small three betting in possie. I look down and find 3c 4c which I like here. I have two of the better players 2 to my left and three to my left so would rather play this pot in possie( the guy on my direct left has actually gone for a piss, now I know that wouldn't normally feature in a hand history but he is a loose cannon and just the type of guy to over raise here to a load of flats pre flop, so it's good he isn't there.) so I make it 325 for a few reasons, I want to increase the pot with a nice little busting hand and discourage the two good players behind me to get involved. I also want to see what the utg guy does here to determine how strong his hand is. All pass behind me and back to the utg who simply calls so I doubt he is very strong now. Other two players also call, so we are 4 handed and I am in possie with 3c 4c pot is 1450 The flop is Qc Tc 3d This I like, I am planning to get busy on this flop but am a little taken aback when the action goes utg bets only 350 , utg+1 makes it 850 and the next to act makes it 2000. Now I am confused, what's my line here playing just over 12k? I put the guy that's bet 2000 on a hand here, what would you put him on? Thanks Title: Re: Live home game, 4 to the flop. Post by: jezza777 on April 29, 2012, 04:38:17 PM ummmm fold pre imho, no matter what the dynamic of the table we are really going to struggle to make 4 high pay .
As played its an easy fold, you could easily be stone dead here. Title: Re: Live home game, 4 to the flop. Post by: WPIL on April 29, 2012, 05:25:00 PM Tighten up in Home Games and use your loose image to your advantage

Usually these are great hands to go off with (bottom pair and a FD) because you can never be in much trouble when you get a bunch of chips in. However here you might get it in 3way which would be terrible for you, you can't really just call here as you have pretty bad visibility (you don't really know what turn card you wanna see) and if you get it in vs a fd ad a better made hand (pretty possible) then you're all but dead. As for what I put people on, IDK, QTs AJ/AK clubs etc even TT (33 still possible also) there are plenty of legit hands for them to have that doesn't do well as a range against your hand. this one really needs to be HU if you wanna make it pay. Title: Re: Live home game, 4 to the flop. Post by: DMorgan on April 29, 2012, 05:46:29 PM I think its a fold pre but in a home game I'd just limp along
Really don't like an iso over 3 limpers with 4 high playing over 100bigs in a home game. Just no need for it really because its almost always going to get 3 calls and even when you find one of the best flops for your hand you still only have bottom pair and a budget flush draw which we're not exactly fistpumping if villains decides to go with his hand and wants to get 120 bigs in unless its the kind of game where villains get gunna snap KJ or Qx in for stacks which it may well be. Your iso size should be at least 600, probably more and even then it'll still probably get 3 calls so just do it for value. Anything other that fold flop would be big spew imo - without further reads I'd expect his range to be 2pair+ and combo draws which you're not doing very well against at all. After the guy makes it 2000 and I haven't passed and am in fact looking interested the table has a few 'fuck me, what's going on here then' with a bit of incredulous laughter. I am now sigh folding but as I am counting up the stack of the guy next to me to get some idea of how comfy he is feeling the utg says laughingly to the utg +1' well I found out what I wanted to know with my bet' the utg +1 laughs and says' yeah, me too'. It looks like they have given themselves away for free. Now what? Title: Re: Live home game, 4 to the flop. Post by: DMorgan on April 29, 2012, 06:09:56 PM Even if we know that they're folding it still doesn't change the 3bettors range much. If anything we can give them Qx/Tx type hands and therefore weight the 3bettors range further towards the combo draws that have 16 outs vs our hand. Still folding.
