I make it 2.5x-2.7x at least, especially as we're OOP, the antes are in there and your giving him a good price to call with any hand. He can play back at any cbet with air or anything he makes.

Just a cooler on the turn. But if everything was bigger I doubt he peels pre.

is the river jam a bluff?

No. I thought I was good. I had him on a big King after he raised my flop c-bet. Was sure he couldn't have a 2! Do you think it is possible for me to get away from this hand once the Queen hits? How should I have played the river?

what are we trying to accomplish by donking the river?
donking only makes sense if you think villain could have been raising weak Kx otf and mite check back hands he could call a bet with on the river.

so this:
yeh river is abd, if he was bluffing he can continue, if he wasnt bluffing ur pribably not good
we're just isolating ourselves vs the top of his range - hes not gonna call you with  Ahrt 5h for example.

If you think he has a big king, then you were v likely winning before as we can assume he will re-raise preflop with AK when it's just blind vs blind.

All the way through the hand I'd share your belief that I had the best hand, he can have 44 and 22 (less likely by the turn) I guess he COULD have K4 and K2 suited, but I'd agree you have the best hand a LOT. This being said, apart from smaller kings (defo possible) we lose to a lot of the range of hands he is betting for value (to make us call worse) and he can defo be randomly going off with a 4 (see it all the time) or some other bizarre bluff, coupled with the possiblity he will quite likely bet his weaker KING for value (and K4, which we now beat) I think the only line OTR is to check and call and allow all his bluffs to bluff once more.

Our all-in has forced him to STOP bluffing, and we're now in the pot only with his good hands (admittedly we beat some of them) but it's no where near as nice a spot to be in as to be in the pot with all the hands he is bluffing with as well.

You have gotten a bit unlucky though so don't beat yourself up too bad - In future when you make a bet, before you do it, ask yourself "why am I betting?" Is it to bluff (make him fold better) For value (make him call worse) and when you've decided try re-cap the hand and think of either better hands he'll fold, or worse hands he'll call and try piece them into how he has played the hand and be sure that it makes sense for him to have them.

Thanks for that. It makes a lot of sense  :) Obviously I should have raised more preflop and I wouldn't have needed to post this thread at all. I agree now that a check call on the river would have been a better option. However, if I had checked and he had shoved the river it wouldn't have been an easy one for me to fold.

I think if you check and he shoved it would have been pretty reasonable of you to call tbh

like I say you have gotten a bit unlucky, so don't beat yourself up over the result of the hand, but you defo could have played it a little better (as per the title of the thread)

There is always another tournament  :)up

Absolutely nothing wrong with min-raising pre obv

Flop and turn are fine

As mentioned river is terrible. I think I check/raise or check/jam the river, I guess dependant on his sizing it could be a check/call.

Minraising pre bvb this deep is terrible.  River is godawful.  Check/decide between calling and jamming is better.
