Title: The ultimate boys toy? Post by: TightEnd on May 09, 2012, 12:23:14 PM http://www.emporiumofwonders.com/store/game-tables/subbuteo%C2%AE-poker-table
Subbuteo® "stadium" with reversible table/poker top, complete with teams & chips/cards, bound in Dauphin calf Dad's especially in their 40s or above will fondly recall hours of fun (and frustration) playing Subbuteo® on the table or carpet back in the seventies when this was THE football game! However, many a time the ball was either lost under furniture or trodden on by one's dad, along with a "player" who would thus be severed from it's base resulting in many hours of patiently gluing the players back together. This is a thing of the past now, thanks to Geoffrey Parker's craftsmen who have created the ultimate in Subbuteo®. No more edges of the pitch curling up or lost balls and damaged players for a complete stadium has been built to enclose the game just like a real stadium. Each side of the "stands" have been bound by hand in printed leather depicting the crowd and even their is a roof over the "crowd" which can carry your favourite teams name or be left as is (i.e. North/South/East/West stand) to save arguments. Hidden away in two drawers are all 20 Premiership teams, complete with accessories and metal shafted goalkeepers. The pitch is in fine gaming cloth and the goals are fixed in place. As if that was not enough, we have twinned a poker table on the reverse of the leather table-top for a real "boys" (or girls) night in! Available either in super-car automotive hide or Dauphin leathers. B-Sub/95Pk-Dauph Only £8k Title: Re: The ultimate boys toy? Title: Re: The ultimate boys toy? Post by: Waz1892 on May 11, 2012, 10:39:28 PM Love playing it when youngest (and would love it still today)
my concern on this table with the pitch that tightly set..how fast would the game be!! The beauty of having it on the floor or whereever was it was always a little bit rough surface...with this the ball and players would fly around with little or no control |
