Title: Champions League top goalscorers - dead heat question Post by: superwomble on May 09, 2012, 10:24:32 PM I've just seen a market on Betfair for which club will be top goalscorers in the Chapions League. Barcelona and Real Madrid are both at 2.0, and have both scored 35 goals so it will be a dead heat.
The BF rules say: Quote ◦For each bet matched on a relevant winning selection, the stake money is first reduced in proportion by multiplying it by the sum of the number of winners expected (as set out in the Market Information), divided by the number of actual winners (i.e. stake multiplied by (number of winners expected/number of actual winners)). The winnings are then paid to the successful backers on this 'reduced stake' (reduced stake multiplied by traded price) and the remaining stake money is paid to the appropriate layers Does this mean that a £100 stake on Barcelona (for example) would return 100 x (1/2) = £50 profit? I assume not but that seems to be what the rules say! But I am tired... Thanks in advance :) Title: Re: Champions League top goalscorers - dead heat question Post by: bobby1 on May 09, 2012, 10:35:11 PM no its standard dead heat rules, you get half your stake on, which is £50 at evens, which returns you the 100 you put on. It's basically just a market that is waiting to be settled coz there is still a game to play but in reality the result is going to be a dead heat between barca and Real, the reason its bet evs each and 1000 the other two is that should anyone want to back the other two at 1000 then they can.
Actually it was bet 1/1 each and a 1000 the last time I looked but some cash has been matched at 1000 the others in a poor liquidty market so its not actually the case now but given they are miles behind it should be. |
