Title: Premiership 2012-13 a bank loan job?
Post by: TightEnd on May 15, 2012, 12:06:26 PM
Man C are priced I see at 6-4 to repeat their Premiership win next year

If we assume they add, as is widely mooted, Eden Hazard and Van Persie to the current Squad....

Isn't 6-4 an empty the vault job? Real price is closer to 5/6?

Totally agree, probably sign them 2 and some other sickos as well.

United really need to strengthen, as we've punched above our weight all season.  Scholes has signed for another year which is great, but I really hope that doesn't mean Fergie won't splash some cash on a world class attacking midfielder.

Don't see Arsenal (Possibly without RVP) or Tottenham building enough of a squad to close the gap.  Liverpool will have a better season in the league, and might push for top 4.

It really comes down to what Chelsea do in the close season.  Who is managing them, and how quickly they can restructure the squad.  With a few signings, they have the potential to certainly overtake United, Arsenal and Spurs, whether they can really compete with City though is another thing altogether.

Not wishing to offend any Newcastle fans, but I think with Europe aswell, they will struggle to reproduce their league form of this year.

6/4 does seem very good value.

I was going to post this yesterday but was waiting to get matched on BF.

What do you think looks the worst price at the moment, Arsenal at 12 or Newcastle at 240?

Arsenal is the worst price

They are longer than 12s in my opinion

I couldnt believe it when I saw it, if they keep the squad together and add more than Podolski then they might just go off around 10 or 11 if the other teams don't improve a lot, which is unlikely. If RVP goes then they might well be touching 18 or 20 come kick off imo.

As for laying Newcastle at 240 or 250, they have had a great season and still got nowhere near winning it, how can that change next season?

Really wanted the 4/1 on Norwich to go down with Stan James last week but didn't want to tie up thousands for 366 days.

Now other firms come in at the right price of 7/4, 9/4 and Stans cut to 3/1 to get a bit more in line.

15/8 looks the right price with me. They haven't been great since Jan, when the promotion boost seemed to stop and although they do have depth they probably have the weakest all round squad in the premiership in terms of ability. 2nd season syndrome too.

Reading will struggle big time, think Saints should be okay, think West Ham could do okay if they go up.

I was the same with Wigan, its a huge price Martinez is there next season and even with him in charge a great season for them is one off the relegation places anyway. With him gone then it will take a very shrewd appointment to keep Wigan in the league imo. Prob was I don't really want to bet until I know who is also coming up from the Championship as Blackpool are obv much shorter than West Ham to be relegated if it is them.

Think the price is about right an i will probaly back them but i want to enjoy the money i just earned from them an enjoy the moment as i nearly had a heart attack on sunday but it was the most special day an even better when i walked into hills monday afternoon an they wrote me out the cheque. I backed them at 10/11 in november an i had many a restless night tighty an i imagine they were long odds when the 5 min extra time board went up.

Alot can happen in the transfer market during the summer an if Man utd stengthen surley their price of 11/4 wt hills is massively disrespectful of their chances? City are worthy favourites but they were 2/1 last week an i wanted to back them then but bottled it as they hadnt won their title yet an securing the first tilte was pivotal an i guess they will continue to shorten by the time the summer ends.

Alot also hinges on Mario balotelli an Carlos Tevez futures at the club, Even though they have been disruptful they also have made the diffferance in many games this year i also beleive if Tevez wouldnt of had his tantrum City would of reached the 100 points in a season this year.
I cant see Van persie leaving Arsenal ? Do you really think he will leave ? If he did which i dont an he did join City then i think they could well be odds on before season starts an you would be spot on on your prediction!

Hi Rich,

I heard not long ago Fergie was personally in France to see Hazard. Could be wrong but he'd be a huge addition for Utd (or anyone) imo.

Hazard quote,

"It will be Manchester,

"The champions or the runners-up? That I do not know. But the decision will taken very soon", he added.

Lots of clubs have filthy rich owners including your own but that dioesn't mean to say they have filthy rich reckless owners and that is kinda what you need.

One note of caution with a bet on MC next year.  This year when I have done my prices every week it has amazed me how often they have had their entire squad to choose from or just one or two injuries.  I know they had the issues with Balotelli and Tevez but the really important players have been there week in week out.

Nowhere, just an opinion. I don't think he leaves for another English team, Real won't buy him and Barca can't afford him.

Ah ok, if he doesn't sign a contract then Arsenal will sell him right ? Not much loyalty in football so I'm not sure he'd be too fussed about going to another Eng club.

Yeah they were so lucky with injuries. Just lucky all round really.  ;marks;

Really good point redarmi, Definsively they struggled when Kompany was out back in january with Savic not looking to sharp an obviously when Yaya was in Africa they wernt the same team so maybe they need cover in defense an in midfield. Amazing to think everyone says they have a big squad but a couple of injuries really does take the heart out of the team.

Who was the last footballer to move and basically have free choice of which club to go to? Ronaldinho?
The whole Hazard thing seems a bit LeBron James (know nothing about him but he held his own press conference to tell the world who he would play for)

Apparently he's said tonight he still doesn't know - what a tease

he is a cracking player and has really moved up this season from promising to end product as well as potential

french league plays very similar to the premiership these days imo and the majority of recent buys from there have turned out very very well
