Post by: gatso on May 15, 2012, 08:32:18 PM no market for gary neville? taking the england coaching job yesterday would suggest he's not in the market for a management position right now Title: Re: Have Villa fans stepped under a ladder? Title: Re: Have Villa fans stepped under a ladder? Post by: redarmi on May 15, 2012, 09:07:10 PM Not really someone that likes laying 33/1 shots but even that wouldn't be value on Neville......
Title: Re: Have Villa fans stepped under a ladder? Post by: Yian on May 15, 2012, 11:14:12 PM As a Villa fan, bringing in Mick McCarthy makes me wanna puke. How do they go about picking any old guy who relegates another midlands team, I don't get it. Last year fans were told that they were listened to through forums and so Steve McClaren didn't get the job but then they go for one worse and get the guy that not only managed our rivals but relegates them. I can't imagine Villa fans as fickle as they are will like this either, it's the same mistake. Surprised to see him so favourite after reading this:-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18076645 this gave me the feeling that they were going for a manager with a...darker complexion... :dontask: Title: Re: Have Villa fans stepped under a ladder? Post by: aaron1867 on May 16, 2012, 03:19:40 PM I wouldn't like to guess who they are going to bring in next.
They are saying Martinez, but really is there that much difference between Wigan and Villa at the moment? Curbishley? Title: Re: Have Villa fans stepped under a ladder? Post by: gatso on May 16, 2012, 09:32:18 PM If curbs doesn't take a job this summer I don't think he will ever work in management again. Villa is abs perfect for him
Title: Re: Have Villa fans stepped under a ladder? Post by: smurf on May 16, 2012, 09:36:47 PM Chief executive Paul Faulkner is targeting an appointment to refresh Aston Villa "We want to find someone to reinvigorate the club," he told BBC Sport. "We want someone to bring some vibrancy back to Villa. That's what we need and that's what we're going to get someone a bit like......erm................martin oneill then, if only they had a time machine. Title: Re: Have Villa fans stepped under a ladder? Post by: Longy on May 17, 2012, 03:38:25 AM Could easily be referring to Lambert who has modelled himself on O'Neill. Obviously hope not it would be a step up in terms of club potential/size, but I think things at Villa are a bit of a mess and that may put him off.
