it was the smiths when i was like 13. Dad took me to loads of concerts across the north. He is a record collector so likes so get out alot and see the bands.

Yeah T and C was the place to go when I moved up here. I think I might have seen The The there once. Also saw Muse play Leeds student Union once when my mate asked me to go and watch his brother sing in his band. They haven't done too badly since then!

Randomly saw Oasis play in a pub in Santa Monica in California a little while before they were known. Didn't have a clue who they were but I put 2+2 together after they started to hit the charts.

I was told I was too young to go to the Newcastle gig on the Born in the USA tour (thin rub there - sorry) Made up for it with 3 gigs in the Tunnel of Love Tour. Going to Prague in July to see him.

My best friend, now the chief executive of one of the biggest accountancy firms in the world, couldn't afford the 50p it cost so he missed out. Not that I ever bring it up when we meet!

Trying to remember the first gig I went to, but struggling. Saw lots of very old and bad bands at the Festival Hall in Corby where my dad was the manager (so we'd get in for nothing). This wasn't necessarily a good thing). I'm trying to remember if Bucks Fizz were earlier than the Drifters, David Essex, Rick Wakeman, or the Houghton Weavers (some old folk band from the North West who were friends of the family). I know they were all before T'pau. Bad times.

The first gig I voluntarily went to must have been either Carter USM or Neds Atomic Dustbin in the late 80s.

Going to see Carter in Leeds in November, being supported by Cud.  Happy days!

First ever concert was with me ma and pa. on the same bill Dave Clark Five, Freddie and the Dreamers, the Searchers and Marianne Faithful - tickets cost sixpence -that's 2 1/2 p in new money!!

Lucky man, I couldn't afford a ticket as an 12 year old. After Free split Rogers formed a band called Peace who backed up Mott the Hoople on the first gig I went to. He then went on to form the brilliand Bad Company.

First paying concert was jay z at the roundhouse a few years back. Need to go to more and at least try one festival.
