It's the 10th Beautiful Days festival in August. Looking forward to that. As well as the Levellers, the line-up includes New Model Army, the Waterboys, PIL, Ocean Colour Scene (acoustic), Inspiral Carpets, amongst others.

Yeah been into Primus for years, missed out on them at Reading Festival many years ago and was gutted but then they played the UK last year and I got tickets for that and again at the Royal Albert Hall.  Happy times.

No - we'd been there since Tuesday evening and left after Madness. Takes someone special to get me to stay through to the end at Leeds. Think the last time I did and enjoyed it was Muse in 2006, although I did stick around to be disappointed by The Killers in 2008

Most of the best bits of Leeds aren't on the Main Stage anyway.

Last concert - Bruce Springsteen in Prague - outstanding. Amazing performance from anyone, let alone a 63 year old man - who was on stage preforming for 3 1/4 hours straight. Was my girlfriend's first ever big concert - gg the future, it'll all be downhill from there.

Why? Dunno really....probably never really loved to go see a band enough to warrant going I suppose.

Always done the football away day thingy myself, that's where my spare cash went.  Never having been to a concert is something I will change for sure.  So should have done the whole Oasis/Blur thing in the 90's...my mates said those concerts were ace.

Prodigy at Brixton will be amazing (hopefully)  I think the Academy is my favourite venue, love it there and have had so many great nights.

Last saw Prodigy at Download last year and they were just as good as they always have been.  Relentless for the whole set, brilliant live act.

Go to a gig!  Doesn't have to be a band you love, but good music is better live! What bands do you like who are around at the moment?

Nothing odd about Brixton, it's excellent.  Great acoustics, looks great inside, and the sloping floor means a great view for most as well.

Tbf if I go to a theatre, I'm expecting to see something more...Jacobean.

Went to see Orbital last week, incredible 1st half hour, best dance music 'i ve ever heard

Jaguar Skills set just finished. Incroyable!

He managed at one point to get M J Cole into Flux Pavillion's Bass Cannon then into Faithless Insomnia, Skrillex's mix of Nero's Promises, SL2 On A Ragga Tip and Darude's Sandstorm and all with the big screen behind him playing loops of Nintendo beat-em-ups from the 90s. Name a song...it was in...there was probably some Scatman John in there and T'Pau...goodness only knows.

Main event coming up I think...

Prodigy to form. Continued their progression to a rockier sound but more dubby in their new stuff. Dogfight is one to look out for.

Hyperspeed as an encore was way out of leftfield. Keef also visited the upper tier. One band that never neglects the fans.

Caspa has just come on. He's - for me - the best British dubstep D J out there and this is two songs in an amazing set. Plenty have left. No stamina some people!

Does anyone use ticketmaster for booking tickets? Any ideas on when they send the tickets out? The small print is vague and states it could be 5 days before the event. Kinda of pffft as it's a Christmas present and the gig is next july.

Tickets can be sent out at any time but are more often than not sent out really close to the event.   The Mrs made a voucher type thing on the computer and printed that off for me for my Download ticket Christmas pressie last year, maybe do your own voucher to give?

Aye sounds about right, last time I saw the Prodigy I ended up sleeping on the floor in a telephone exchange having lost my glasses, key & the soles out of my boots. Was a great night though.

Usually arrive within 14 days of the event.
Some of the bigger stuff can be a bit closer to the date.
They used to have an option on the website to print a voucher for the ticket - had no resale value but did give you something to put in a card.  Not sure if the option is still available.

I have the chance for premium Glasto tickets. On a scale of 1-10 rate the importance i should give to; a) This year and b) Future years

Chances of Leeds this year, missed last year and felt kinda gutted.

What is a premium Glasto ticket?

Anything that takes you away from general population camping is bad at Glasto as you will be almost off site in all likelyhood - that can be a long way (circa 60 Min walk to main stages sometimes) and the press area although more central is a bizarre oasis of calm and solitude.

Depends how important you think the main Stage line up is - are you going to just sit in front of the main stage?  If yes, do you like the Stones?  If not wait another year.  The Led Zep rumour's are already building for next year, but its just as likely to be Destiny's Child I guess.

The line up is about the least important thing at Glasto IMO, its about so much more then seeing bands you know.
I would bite any ones hand off to secure any Glasto ticket if I hadn't got one - If you take one this year is there no chance for next?

If a premium ticket gets you camped in the central enclave between the Main and the Other Stage then that's all good. The ability to get from one side of that area to the other easily is a major plus.
But as Nakor says a lot of the rest will be camped a long way from anywhere.

I do Glastonbury as an Oxfam Steward and we camp outside the fence so it's a chew getting to a lot of the site, but then, it's effectively a free ticket for us with our commitment to three x 8hr shifts delivered before the gates open. A premium stewards role as it were.

My Uncle has done lots of work in the music industry, and he can "try" and get backstage passes/tickets, but I don't quite know what it entails really. All he said was I can probably get 4, you'll have to pay about the normal price, but it should be incredible. I think it would be like the VIP tickets, with separate bar/camping area etc. I think we might get them, camp in the normal section and just use the bar. Afaik he can get them year on year, but he can't take the piss, ie asking for tickets to everything all the time, its just a case of favours and the like. He managed to get me tickets for Oasis on the day of a gig in Sheffield once, aged 13 or so!

If you can get them, FFS get them!!  Otherwise, I'll have them :)up

Glasto is everything in terms of festivals, so many people i have persuaded to go who were a bit fearful for whatever reason now go year on year. The bands don't matter, my record low was 3 bands one year, we were there for 5 days and something like 1600 bands played, and it was the best one i ever went to. Not saying this is the way to go exactly been some years and must have seen 40 plus.

Saw my mates brothers band last week and Steve Mason next week, cannae wait.

Its the weekend of my graduation, sigh, and I'd love to get them to sell on to a blonde but its not really an option unfortunately.

This weekend I was mostly in a field in Derbyshire, drinking beer and listening and dancing to some great music at the Bearded Theory Festival.

Highlights included: Ned's Atomic Dustbin, New Model Army, Stiff Little Fingers and the Levellers.  Great festival, really friendly atmosphere and only 35 minutes from home.  Much like Beautiful Days, but on a smaller scale.  Love going to these festivals where there's no massive corporate sponsorship, 99.99% of the people there are there to have a good time and there's virtually no trouble.  Love that some of the members of the 'headline' acts can be found in the bars or in the crowds watching other acts and they're happy to chat and say hello.

Went to the Stone Roses in Finsbury Park tonight.  I realise it is kinda a year late but it was totally worth it and was pretty incredible really.

Not a concert as such but Dawn & I were lucky enough to be invited to a get together at a friend's house along with Davey Carton, the lead singer of The Saw Doctors. He grew up in the same town as my mate, Tuam, County Galway. We had a great evening singing theirs and others songs along with some great story-telling too. Top fella.

Ended up in Shrewsbury at a Levellers gig.  Was fantastic.  It was at the Buttermarket (for those who know it) and it's quite a small venue, which I always like. We got a good spot near the front and had a good mosh.  Dripping wet with sweat at the end, which is always the sign of a good gig in my book :D

Will be seeing them again in a fortnight at the Beautiful Days festival, but was great to see them last night.  I'm a lucky chap!

I've an image of the mosh pit at a levellers gig being really dangerous with people getting their eyes poked out by all the air fiddling :D
