Title: APAT Hand
Post by: Rod on May 27, 2012, 04:41:15 PM
Tournament = APAT Welsh National Championship
15K Starting stack
45 Minute Levels

Blinds = 400/800 ante = 100
122 players start
about 60 left

I have just been moved tables and have seen a player who I know to be a good player who usually plays fairly tight, but can mix it up a bit, raise every pot (I have only been there 3 hands though). Last hand I made it 1800 with AJ, she raised to 4K and I folded.

I have about 25K at the start of the hand

I get dealt TT UTG and raise to 1800 again. I get one flat caller who I don't know and the player I mentioned before moves all-in (covers me).

Easy fold?

It is a fold with tourney life on the line.

Should be a fold. I like tens tho, always flop trips innit.

Anyway, do a fold.

In this particular tournament I would fold. Better spots and all that

Honestly this is very outdated reasoning now.

Agree, but it has some merit when deep in the money because there's lots of icm to consider.

On the other hand, at this stage you could argue that doubling your chip stack doesn't double your EV, but when you're knocked out you're EV most certainly is 0.

So I think there's merits to that line of thought actually.

I don't think it is fair to quote both those posts together tbh.

I think at the buy in level we can fold people not getting it in that weak most of the time although I think I probably talk myself into calling!

Can I renter unlimited times? If I can snap call! ;)
